[SIZE=9]Prologue: Under This Blue Sky

"Mom, I’ll be leaving soon. I'm going to go find her..." A boy, no older then ten, said sitting in front of a gravestone. "I'm will find her and protect her from her suffering. I’ll make this her last time to ever suffer." The young boy turned head and stared at the descending sunset. "It sure is beautiful, right mom?"

[i]If you should know, that boy was me, Raiku Esca. Though I was only ten during that time, they said I was really mature after my mother's death. Well, you know how I said I was going to find a certain girl and protect her, right? I actually did find her, even though my family decided to shun the idea of a winged-being protecting the Esca lineage. Aha, well allow me to begin from my meeting with her.[/i]

It was insanely hot, as I merely sat there in the shade of the wall, staring out into the ocean, listening to the buzz of the cicadas. I was a few years older now, about fifteen maybe sixteen? Amazing that I couldn’t even remember my own age. I sighed, "Ahhh... It's so hot today...." I turned a bit falling off the side of the wall and laying on the sand staring at the sea with the scent of salt running entirely through the air. The sun seemed to shine brighter; brightening the sea as it sparkle swaying back and forth. [i]This is when I first saw her, of course I didn’t know at the time.[/i]

"Oy! Anita-chan hurry up!!" A spiky-brown haired boy with shorts and a white T-shirt yelled looking over at the girl a few feet away.

I looked a few meters away to see a girl running along the way to catch up to the boy. I could hear her panting even from my distance from her. [i]Is that really how you should treat a girl....? Either this guy doesn't know how or they know each other pretty well....[/i]

"Ah! Hang on Kei-kun!" The girl yelled, suddenly stopping to sit down for a second to catch her breath.

"No! If you don't hurry then I’m going on ahead!" The spiky brown haired boy yelled scoffing at her and continuing onward. The girl sighed sitting down on the ground and with a sadden expression drawing circles on the sand.

I could vaguely hear a bit of what she was saying, "...That was mean to Kei-kun to leave me. Now how am I gonna get home before nightfall..." I stared at her intently as I laid there in the sand, with my blue hair having some sand on it, my plaid shorts sand stuck on it, and my shirt darkened a bit from the shadow's cast. That's when she noticed me sitting there....

She ran over to me and asked if I could help her. I couldn't refuse, since I was taught to never leave someone in need, despite how great or badly the consequences may come out. I acted slowly and tried to make it look like I was pondering my thoughts. "S-sure, I'll help you...." [i]/OR at least I can say I'll 'try'.[/i]

I got up from the sand, dusting myself off as my blue hair began to be blown by the summer winds. Her face lit up from a somewhat sad expression, to a brighten sense. I couldn't do much except stand there and watch her.

After I finished dusting myself off, she put her head down a bit, "Um... my name is Anita Haruno, and I was wondering...." She continued slowly as if she was unsure about something. "May I please, get to know your name?"

"Huh...? O-of course... my name is Raiku Esca." She lifted her head and sidestepped around me with her hands behind back.

"Esca-san…? Ah, I know! Raiku-kun!!" She giggled a bit and continued, "I like that name. It sounds very interesting."

I sighed in depression for a slight moment, "You... sure can be straightforward. Especially for meeting someone for the first time."

She just laughed a bit and smiled, "That's what people tell me," She looked around towards the sea. “Besides, I feel like I can trust you.”
