You're welcome, and thank you! Yours is adorable too though, I love the colors. User Image

I see. Yeah, that kind of thing would do it.
Firefox drives me nuts. It's a memory hog and for whatever reason it's so much slower than Chrome.
I guess Flash support isn't helping. I often have to force-quit Flash; otherwise it hangs. emotion_facepalm

I have even more interesting outfits for this character. Zeta is one of my oldest and most infamous characters from years ago. lol

Anyway, how have you been?

A couple of updates back, I actually had to install a new version of AdBlock Plus because Firefox refused to recognize the old one.
Firefox also has a nasty habit of breaking extensions so I gave up on BetterGaia post formatting. emotion_facepalm

Also, sorry about just disappearing there. I... do that a lot... emotion_facepalm

Lol I never thought I had the temperament for it either. I'm too awkward and stuff... but I did it for two years and I don't think I did so bad. Must run in the family, both my parents are/were teachers at some point in their lives.
Thank you, thank you! I want to keep teaching, but I have a feeling I'd rather handle college students because that'll let me research more.
High school is demanding. xd Thank you, though! ;w;
Wishing you the best of luck!
Or if, alternatively, I can prove that they don't exist. That's my intuition, but I can't quite formalize an argument as to why.
What I really want to do someday is work on primes and related topics (one major goal of mine is to resolve the Riemann Hypothesis), but I've been advised against it for the time being. lol

Yeah, they are important setup games, but the former is a LOT of filler (plus Franziska is a babe, yeah, but I didn't find her character that compelling--that having been said, I wish I'd seen more of her in the main series instead of having her relegated to the Investigations spinoff) and the latter was just so... Idk how to put it. Seeing what Phoenix and Ema became was so deflating, and I didn't know what to make of any of the new characters. sweatdrop Their sequels did provide for some nice payoff, though.
Pearls returned in Dual Destinies, haha. Now, just Maya.
I actually liked the Edgeworth game and am sad CAPCOM chose not to localize it and that no one's done the second... But I've always loved Edgeworth, so...
Would be nice to have that localized but I am getting the feeling that CAPCOM doesn't care about Ace Attorney unless it's the main series. Ack, they underestimate their fans' devotion! If we're willing to buy all five games, sometimes even the remakes of the first three, then getting the spin-offs is something we would totally do if you would only let us.
I have not seen either! Will have to look those up some time. o3o

Ahh, I see! I wish you the best of luck with that!
I'm trying to find new employment too. My contract at my old school (I used to be a high school teacher) pretty much ended, so yeah.
Yeah, being an actuary is hard. Some of my friends did that, too, but yeah, low pass rates. sweatdrop
Grad school is probably the most likely road for people who have done pure math, but I hate to say it, the job market for pure math is turrible. If you're not teaching, you're probably working at Subway or something, not even exaggerating.
(Yitang Zhang was doing that before he got his result on bounded prime gaps.)

Thank you, thank you. emotion_hug
I'd hate for people to be as terribly off as me, though. lol
I don't mind explaining my work at all. Are you familiar with sociable numbers? That's the generalization of perfect numbers (order 1) and amicable numbers (order 2).
Specifically, I'm trying to put bounds on the size of the set of sociable numbers of order 3, i.e., positive integers n such that s(s(s(n))) = n where s(n) denotes the sum of proper divisors of n.
(The best known bound right now is that the sociables of order 3 less than x is about (x/(ln x))^(1 + o(1)), proven by Paul Pollack in 2012. No sociable numbers of order 3 have actually been found yet (the only known orders are 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 2 cool , which makes things so much harder for me.)

Yes, I do! I've played all five of the main series (still have to buy the DLC for the last one, tho) + the first Investigations game. I've done a ton of AA cosplays while on here, on my old accounts.
I'm excited about 6, because I feel Maya finally makes her comeback or something and I've missed her, but at the same time, as far as I'm concerned, the series tends to follow this pattern: all the odd-numbered games are great (1, 3, 5) but the even-numbered ones are kinda meh (2, 4) meaning we're due for a meh game. I hope not, though. lol
Still waiting on Phoenix's ancestor, that was announced forever ago it seems, but I am excited for 6.

I'm the opposite. I did finance but now I wish I just did research math all the way. I feel my background is so lacking even if I did my coursework very easily. I just have no research experience of this kind orz
Epsilon-delta proofs are fun! And you do them a lot with Fourier analysis, approximation theory, etc. Might just be me though, all my classmates hated those too. lol

I'm the rare breed who loves abstract algebra and real analysis, then.
Then again, both are very important for number theory. I find that with analytic NT you need to know a bit of everything...
Analytic number theory is number theory that heavily uses real/complex analysis. Together with some abstract algebra, some combinatorics, etc.
Meaning, you're studying integers, but you break out the whole toolbox.

Thank you, thank you. But I've been stuck on this problem forever now. I feel so bad that I am making zero progress... emotion_facepalm

Anyway, if I may ask, what are you doing now? Studying/working/whatnot? o3o
