Hello, I'm just stopping by to say hi (and get gold for commenting, but whatever...at least I'm honest). I read your piece "hexabromocylododecane" and I LOVE it! I don't know that I can give you all the high-quality feedback that you want (or that the piece deserves), but I guess I can try! It's a bit more surreal than what I usually read, but I really do like it. I know there are parts to it that I just don't understand (little allusions you've made that simply make sense only to a very select group of people, maybe just you), but on the whole, the underlying message is pretty clear to the reader. The idea of fire and its opposite is present throughout (in burning the people as bonfires and rainforests, the paint is flammable, burning the bulidings, HBCD several times, the pool of water & aquaphobia as extinguishing the flame, the implication of one's brain being on fire & soothed with HBCD). I must admit I don't undertsand the importance of the letter and the ink smeared on he bathroom wall; however, this may just be the rigidity of my own mind. The effect of the spacing and the punctuation are very interesting; I'd really like to try reading this aloud to someone, trying to keep the pacing and punctuation/capitalization in tact. In fact, I just might go do that....you have me intrigued XD
