Looking cooler than ever, Athrun Zala, son of former Supreme Chairman Patrick Zala as well as a ZAFT Elite Topgun in the #1 Le Creuset Team, officially resigns his position as well as his allegiance with ZAFT after the war of Jachin Due. Although he resented war, he feels that his prescence is needed in order to find an end to the war. Because of his rejoining with ZAFT, the tables have turned and he once again ends up on a different side of the board than Kira Yamato and the rest of the Archangel crew. He joins up with the Minerva on the Earth and assists them on their operations, though he later rejoins the Clyne Faction in which he is saved by the Archangel.
