Guided Writing Assignment:
Weird Words
“Lapis sky, green palms, sand the colour of pale gold…
I wrote this slowly, intense thought and care behind each word. I was in a trance-like state, complete concentration and focus set on what I was writing. I was in my perfect world at that moment, but I should have known that such personal peace would be ripped away from me, violently and very suddenly.
“ATMU!”
The letter d ending the world gold was effectively ruined as my entire body jolted as if I had suffered a painful electric shock, and my pen dragged halfway across the page. I let out growl that was almost inhuman, as my narrowed eyes set on the teenage boy across the room, who was sporting a proud, lopsided grin.
“Other than ‘pay attention to me because I’m a moron and need constant supervision’, what does that word even mean?” I asked my friend slowly and calmly. My tone, however, dangerously dared him to annoy me further. Chris’ Cheshire-cat smile widened, and he stepped in a waltz-like pace over to me. As I tried to continue my writing and save my de-railed train of thought, my pen was only dragged further down the page as a word sounding like “BUKRA!” was yelled in my ear.
With a sigh, I slumped over the desk and buried my head in my arms as the source of my newfound headache giggled in a very non-masculine way and fled the room.
Why do I let him finish my coffee every morning? Why?
Dedicated to Chris, because he’s awesome.
This was the start of a legacy very few know of.
