He pulled away, to look at Aurelia again, in a new light, despite it being around them.

"...I'm sorry. I....I was just...I well..." Suddenly he felt ready to remove himself from the room with what he did. Why'd he just...?

His chest stirred and he held Aurelia into his chest again. He might as well just keep her safe and content for now. Hopefully she didn't mind.

"N-No problem," Enrai replied softly, holding Aurelia even closer. Was that his heartbeat tuning in finely with her own stuttering one?

What a weird prom setting. He felt their meager lights were fireflies and he was dancing on top of clouds as a misty smoke entered the room to create a more romantic atmosphere. He eyed other couples swaying like palm trees towards the musical winds. They were content as he was.

He had not noticed his aura was melting, melting, making the air mystified and cold around everything else except them. He wanted Aurelia to feel his warmth that he had tried to lock away from even himself for these past years. He hated himself even more for doing that and he didn't feel he deserved this girl in his arms. This night...was taking him by the minute.

He pulled away slightly to look into her amber eyes again, his hair bang unleavened enough to show his hidden eye and the other visible one was paled by the lights.

"Aurelia..."

His heart and his mind made up, and Enrai leaned in, the lights illuminating all around him.

Enrai shrugged his panic off like a bad case of the shivers, and slowly he too blended his body with hers with the radiance of the music surrounding them.

He wasn't afraid to look in Aurelia's eyes, shining like amber stars in this universe made of lightbulb galaxies. She looked stunning, a knock-out tonight. He kept his grip on her hand light but still existent and his hand on her waist as light as possible (He had heard girls felt extremely squeemish with first dances, so he managed to keep her space his first priority).

"...You look beautiful," he heard himself say from above the music. It was either a well placed compliment or a slipped out mumble.

Smiling reassuringly, Enrai guided her to the floor and then realized.

Crap. How do you slow dance again?

He looked at Aurelia sheepishly. "...I...dunno how to..." He cut himself off. And he was the one that offered this dance.

Was she going to look at him differently now?

A jolt erupted the minute she touched his hand. Without hesitation this time (surprisingly enough), Enrai took her hand and held it loosely. His fingers slid into the crevasses of her own finger's spaces, wanting to meld themselves, wanting to let them become familiar with this person.

He was willing to try again.

The DJ suddenly changed the music to a more ambient track. Enrai's one auburn eye darted towards the dancefloor and then cautiously back to Aurelia's amber pair. Was he rushing too fast or was he just eager?

"...Want to?" He was implying their first dance.

*At the said (almost typed sad) prom*

He felt like his old rich-boy self again.

As they entered the dimly lit hall, illuminated only by the firefly lightbulbs from above the ceiling, Enrai gently guided Aurelia towards a lone table, close to a window, overlooking a fountain. He let go of her arm and offered a chair for her to sit at. He felt his etiquette lessons sprung up from his mind, taking his body into natural effect.

He learnt all this from so long ago. Tonight... it had to be worth something.

Enrai blushed for a split second before nodding. He presented the bouquet as quick as trying to present a dead fox he just recently killed towards a marksman.

"F-For you, Aurelia," he muttered towards the ground. He looked up shyly, looking fondly at the boutenniere she had pinned on.

His gift for tonight.

Smiling and feeling a little more sure of himself, he offered his bent arm for her to take. It was time to spend some time a little more.

BUT LOL, LETS START A PROM RP 8DDD Uh, do I pick you up at an apartment? D: I just realized Enrai doesn't exactly live anywhere because he's a traveler, so....?))

His knuckle rapped the wooden surface firmly. A very firm and powerful rap.

Or maybe that was him just being impatient.

Enrai stepped away from the door to fix his stupid coat again. Thank goodness he decided to get one aligned with fur--it was going to be a chilly night.

He shoved one hand in his silk pants and squeezed tightly a small bouquet of white lilies he had scrambled to buy earlier on today. He took a deep breath.

Hopefully...this was the right house this time.

Enrai felt his cheeks warm up. She said his name, his accursed name that his own hated parents gave to him. A name he sometimes though he didn't deserve.

A name...she spoke so sweetly.

And now her request took him by surprise. Goodness.

Surprise her?

...Without thinking himself, Enrai slowly let one hand drift away from his folded grasp and closer to her hand resting on the grass. One finger twitched, touching just a micrometer onto her pinky finger.

He looked beyond the meadow, hoping his message was sought out.

The teen gave a small 'hmm' in a reply and decided to take a gander.

God, they only just MET. But it was worth something...

Slowly, he slid closer beside her, but not too dangerously close. Just...shoulders touching-close. He heaved a deep breath, looking at the vast field in front of them.

"Just...tell me what you want, and I'll try to whip it up," he said, loud enough for her to exclusively hear.

Enrai looked down, his own eye glittering. Would an offer help?

"I...could try cooking for you, if you want...Aurelia." He said her name carefully, to avoid trying to say it weird. He said it slowly, and trying to avoid any mispronunciation. Aurelia didn't sound accented.

It sounded...quite unique, in fact.

He had to rethink what she said again. Right.

His hobbies? They were mostly about trying to avoid this kind of situation. Saying that would deem a weird response on her part...

"...I cook," Enrai stuttered. "And...I like violin music." He was talking like a child during a spelling bee. Where did his usual self-confidence go?

Enrai's mouth twitched upwards for a split second. His catch phrase for anyone who bothered to see how he introduced himself was 'Remember it.'

Aurelia Crescent just played a reply back.

Hesitantly, he turned, motioning his head, silently asking if he was allowed to sit down beside her.

Lets try again, from the beginning, he thought. He had already tried with three others who have seemingly trusted him back--world record for him in his book--so it was worth a shot.

If she was willing, it could work.

*His mouth twitched. That was the only way he remembered people.

He didn't bother to remember names because he refused to partake in their lives anyways. And would they benefit by remembering him?

And why was he doing this, really? His interest should have worn off a long time ago. Taking one last glance at her sketch before she turned to another clean sheet, he decided it be best to leave her alone.

He tried, at least.

....Her last name was 'Crescent', like the moon, or something. It could've been that that was holding the teen back from exiting quicker as he should.*
