I've never realized that being a good friend could sometimes be so difficult and would cause such awkwardness...especially when the other person is of the opposite gender...

The word "gay" is not a synonym for "stupid".
This is for everyone who's sick of hearing somebody get a bunch of homework and say "Oh my god, this is so GAY." Or "My parents took my cell phone away - how gay is that!!!" Basically, look up "stupid" in the thesaurus - you won't find the word "gay" there, so don't use it.
A teacher had been visiting a group of grade five students. The leader had asked them a really tough question to get the day started. He had said, " Your driving down a dirt road, you come across three people. One of them is an old man who is badly hurt and needs medical attention, the second is your best friend, then the third is your soul mate. You only have room for one of them in your car. Which one would you take with you?"
Some kids said "Oh I'd take the old man cause he's hurt." Others voted the best friend and a few said their soul mate. All of them had their own reasons for choosing who they did and they were all valid.
Finally there was only one kid left to go this is what he said:
"I would give my best friend the keys to my car and ask him to take the old man to the hospital. Then I'd tell him to keep the car, and finally I'd go on a walk with my soulmate."
Everyone was amazed by the kids words and no one has ever been able to forget it.
