I am a twenty-two year-old Hume sky pirate who pilots the Strahl, my small airship, around the skies of Ivalice. I was once an Imperial Judge under the name of Ffamran Mid Bunansa. My father Cidolfus Demen Bunansa, aka Dr. Cid, had a madness and obsession with Nethicite, which is why I eventually decided to leave him and become a sky pirate, that's when I changed my name to Balthier. With this new name and career, I amounted a sizable bounty on my head, attracting the attention of bounty hunters such as Ba'Gamnan.
Well, as you must know, I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies. Good example of that is when Fran and I were in the Sky Fortress Bahamut when it was destroyed near Rabanastre. Everyone thought we were dead, but Fran and I left a note for the new Queen Ashe indicating that we are still alive.
Both me and Fran intend on finding the Cache of Glabados, but that's a whole different story.
