Unusual Features: Oliver Queen has a star tattooed on his left chest signifying that he is one the highest members in the Russian underworld. Multiple scars can be seen covering his upper torso from years of torture. Oliver possesses a tattoo on his left shoulder blade similar to one that Shado has.

The son of Starling City industrialist Robert Queen, Oliver was a shallow, spoiled playboy who thought nothing of cheating on his girlfriend with her own sister. This changed during an ill-fated sailing trip on his father's yacht, the Queen's Gambit. The ship was sabotaged in the Pacific ocean, forcing Oliver, Robert, and a third crewman to escape in a life raft. Only having enough food and water for one person, Robert kills the third man, and tells Oliver that he has failed their city, and that Oliver needs to survive and right his wrongs. Robert then committs suicide. Oliver's raft ends up on the island of Lian Yu, and while scavenging the raft for supplies, he uncovers a list of corrupt one-percenters who are driving Starling City to ruin.

Oliver spends five years on Lian Yu, having his first encounters with Eddie Fyers, Yao Fei, Shado, and Slade Wilson. By the time Oliver is rescued, he has mastered Kyudo and Eskrima, and has become a fluent speaker of Mandarin and Russian. As Oliver attempts to reconnect with friends and family, he also creates a Robin Hood themed combat suit, and begins a one-man war of attrition against the corrupt elite named on "the list." He eventually gains valuable allies in the form of John Diggle and Felicity Smoak, who steer him down a less lethal path, and toward stopping crimes that affect everyday people instead of limiting his crusade to "the list." But as his allies multiply, so do his enemies, as "the Hood" attracts the ire of not only the Underworld, but also the police and a mysterious "undertaking" with more sinister, far reaching plans.

Oliver Queen has a very dynamic personality. His passion and intensity make him strong, although he has always had difficulty finding direction in life. Born into wealth, he didn't need to work for most of what he had and was raised with very little responsibility. His experience on Lian Yu taught him self-reliance and showed him there was more to existence, giving him an outlet.

Weapons

Bow and Arrows: Oliver, as Arrow, uses as his signature weapon of choice is a re-curved bow and numerous types of arrows, which he creates and designs himself, to fulfill his promise and mission he made to his father before his death. Other than standard arrows, Oliver has used custom-designed arrows such as explosive arrows with custom arrowheads.

Quiver: An arrow container strapped to Oliver's back. He uses it to carry his arrows as his alter-ego vigilante, the Hood.
