Guilty Pleasure: Sailor MoonBecause I live in Europe, I've never seen the English dubbed version. I actually prefer watching the original Japanese version with ENG subs. Of course that implies that I'm using the original Japanese names of the characters because that's what Naoko Takeuchi intended.
Watching SM doesn't make you gay or anything. There's more to it than just magical girls and it's one of the reasons why anime became so popular.
I love all senshi but my favorite characters are Sailor Uranus/Haruka Ten'ou and Sailor Neptune/Michiru Kaiou. I'll probably write a journal entry someday where I'll rant about their awesomeness. Just know that I love those two.

Even during Goldemort's reign, I think most users were pretty confident that the site wasn't going anywhere. Hmmm I have to dig to find the dates of when some staff were laid off because I was actually on hiatus myself, so I found out things, almost a year later xD. Here's a catch-up thread, unfortunately some info is missing.
I agree that Gaia should be a place to unwind, so I don't give attention to anything significantly negative or stress-inducing. Although some user drama can be juicy to watch from the shadows lol.
I personally stopped looking at ATS when very few useful questions were being answered. It was vexing seeing user concerns ignored and staff responding to "what's your favourite dog breed?". I had no idea about the ongoing tension.
Some German accents are just so soothing to my ear lol (is that strange?) It's mostly curiosity about the food and culture. Hmm, Oktoberfest too! xD
The UK is home, so it doesn't feel as exciting haha. Although I'm forever grateful for the diversity, transport system and general options in London.
I can't go back to gold, there's just too many zeros! Are there any changes that have really surprised you or that you like? etc.
Don't be sorry at all! Unfortunately with my regular hiatus' I missed a lot of things. I came back around the time COVID kicked off. I wish I poured all my funds into tickets and gcash before each hiatus! gonk
Yep Lanzer is back in control, it was a slow start to recovery but things are in a good enough place that users feel comfortable again.
There was an odd period where it felt almost like the site could shut down while a few weeks notice, because they were really struggling, making you reluctant to spend plus the updates were just...meh.
I think introducing direct buy tickets, helped a lot.
Several tickets have been discontinued, while others have had their rules modified. Events have improved, in the sense that they are not exclusively just spamming forums. The Towns upgrade is in the works.
Yeah, the CSU isn't as active as it used it be. There are even some days when there almost isn't a thread because no one can be bothered or the update is underwhelming haha.
Forum drama and user policing has calmed down, thankfully. Inflation is as ugly as ever, so viewing your currency as "platinum" makes it easier to look at lol.
There's a weekly "ask the staff" session that takes place but I stopped looking at those 2+ years ago because not a lot of useful questions are answered and repeated content gets ignored.
Congrats on completing your BA and best of luck with your master's! It's nice to see you back!! Japan and Germany are forever on my travel to do lis sad
Anyone can join the server! Think of it as a mesh of CB, GD, GCD, Exchange, Art forums and Avatar Talk. Artists and mods are also in there too but it's regulated by the users that made it.
I mostly go in there when I need info on something. I also like that you can get alerted when shiny user ticket goodies are released haha.
I've only been a forum assistant, never a mod (I can't dedicate the time required for that role).
I'm definitely nowhere near as active as I used to be when I was at uni. My FA duties and curiosity is what keeps me looking back.
There's a few dedicated Gaia servers on Discord that people use for the social side of things, so much so that you don't even need to log onto Gaia to see what's new sometimes and it's certainly easier chatting on there.
How have you been?!
I miss the thrill and excitement of getting those random manly LQI's cry (tbt to when Kingston's Blossomy Bristles came out)
I've been good! Got married IRL and have just been working towards finishing my career.
How are things for you? gaia_sakura
