I need to see her again, so I close my eyes and drift away,
I focus on her lips, her eyes, and every word I've heard her say.
The sound of wind drowns out the real, and lifts me from my bed,
I open my eyes in a world I created just for her in my head.
In a world where she's the battery that powers the stars and the moon,
Please don't let me wake up, morning always comes too soon.
My eyes scan a beautiful valley, populated by a single tree,
Her figure comes into focus, with her arms around her knee.
Sitting all alone beneath this tree, sheltered from the rain,
She knows I came just for her, all the way to this otherworldly plane.
Suddenly I'm next to her, a hundred yards from where I was,
My arms around her waist, intently watching everything she does.
The smirk tugging at her lips, just begging to be kissed,
Her soft brown eyes that haunt my thoughts, just begging to be missed.
An eternity flashes in a second, a life my mind tries to weave,
She clutches me in her arms, her tears tell me not to leave.
'I'll be back' I whisper, 'I promise', as the world opens at the seam,
I'll never be without her, as long as I still dream.
