It was never about whether I agreed with the war or not. It was always about bringing soldiers home. You can never ask for a more honorable profession. You have my complete respect for wanting to take the job.
It's not an easy life. There were plenty of times I nearly s**t my pants I'll be honest. Being a badass has nothing to do with fear, it's mostly about doing what you have to anyway... then returning to base and switching fatigues. >.<
Lol. No one has the budget for kicking a** like we do though. But I've seen some of you guys down in Kuwait. That was a long time ago though. It's not as bad as everyone thinks, if you have the training and the determination, when someone goes down, it's just you and the wound... you go on autopilot, you forget about stuff like bullets and bombs, lol.
Try and do all you can to get into a line unit. I've deployed with the infantry and worked in the hospital. Hospital work is boring as hell, plus you never get respect as a medic unless you've been to combat.
