Hello, there. My name is Ran, and I'm one of Amu Hinamori's shugo charas! I love to play sports, run, and cheer. I was born because Amu didn't like her outside character, and wanted to show more of her inner character, in other words, the real her. So then I came along, with Miki and Su, Amu's other charas. Miki represented Amu's desire to be outstanding in creativity, and Su represented Amu's desire to cook better. And I of course, represent her desire to become honest and athletic. I can chara nari/character transform with Amu to become Amulet Heart! When she becomes Amulet Heart, she has special techniques! Spiral Heart and Spiral Heart Special are two of the techniques. She does Spiral Heart and Spiral Heart Special when she has a heart rod in her hands, and throws it. Heart Speeders is the next technique I will be telling you about! Heart Speeders are roller blades that Amu can use to move faster, or go high into the air! The last one I will be telling you about is the pompoms Amu uses for defense. There's no specific name for it, but hey, it's cool! When Amu-chan holds up her pink pompoms decorated with hearts, it creates a pink force shield that protects her! Awesome!
After a while, another chara came along, and her name is Dia! Dia soon became an X chara, because Amu lost sight of her heart's radiance during the spring term at Seiyo Academy. Dia was later known as X-Dia.
Utau Hoshina, singer of the Easter Company, then found X-Dia's egg, and picked her up, keeping her.
When a battle between Amu and Utau clashed, X-Dia appeared and asked Amu a question. Amu admits and answers that she is an imperfect child filled with flaws, and she knows that her light won't fade away, because of all of the situations that trouble her. X-Dia understood what she meant, and was touched by her words, causing her to have her original name (Dia), go back into her original egg, and into Amu to sleep until Amu finally "shines again."
After another battle, but at the Easter Company building, Amu begins to open her heart to Ikuto, and Dia gets reborn again.
