I actually got to show my girlfriend Chrono Cross recently. She's the first person I've ever really shared that game with. Fortunately, she loved it. Now she plans to show me a game she loves probably as much as I love CC.
Chrono Cross has been my favorite game for a long time. It's the only game I've ever played that genuinely feels more important to me than just a 'game'. I liked it substantially more than Trigger, and I loved Trigger (which says a lot, since I hate almost all 2D turn-based RPG's). I'm actually wanting to get a CC tattoo when I get the chance to. Already have it designed and everything.
Ironically? I hated Cross the first time I played it. Played the introduction area for like two minutes, hated everything about how it worked, and turned it off for almost a year. Got bored one day, put it back in, couldn't figure out what the heck I had hated, and didn't put it down again until it was finished.
