My life wasnt always a merciless pit of despair, but eventually the world found its way to make it happen. My torment did not begin until the age of 5 when my mother died, and my father first began drinking. At first it was just his words, then his hands, and then anything else he could use to phsycally abuse me. I lied to eveyone and told them it was only an accident, that I had simply fallen down the stairs or ran into a door. While everyone believed my life of lies, I cried myself to sleep hoping someone would figure out the pain I was enduring. No one ever did, and I could never work up the heart to tell them. It only got worse when my father became addicted to coke and spent all his money on crack. He would then blame me for our financial problems. He would throw fits of rage battering and braking me as I crumpled myself into a heap in a corner. He would relent every couple of minutes, only to get mad at me again and beat me some more. I prayed that he would stop and I asked for forgiviness for whatever it was I had done to make my father so mad. God never helped me, nobody could. Some people who called me their "friend" tried to help but I found their fruitless efforts even more uncomforting. I could no longer cry for tears simply couldnt keep up with my horrendous life. The last time I saw my wretched father, or anything for that matter was 2 months after my 13th birthday. My father was driving me home, drunk as always when he drove us off the side of the road. I remember watching the car tumble before something hit me in the head and everything went black. That was the last time I would see a speck of light for an uncountable length of time. From there I suffered in Hell for whatever sins I had to attone to from my life. It wasn't the kind of place I thought it would be, no raging fires or lost souls, just darkness and solitute which I found much better than living with my drunken father. I must have gone crazy for one day I heard whispers in my head. They told me to do the strangest things, and when I failed I would get a splitting headache. One day the voice as I now called it lead me to a beach, where I stayed for an unimaginable amount of time. The voice was good for some things though, for an example it lead me back to the real world where I met the strange girl who I hated, yet adored so greatly. After she had gone to fetch me the water, I layed in the grass, a thing a hadn't done since the day before my mom died when we watched the sunset together. I was suprised that the thought didn't disgust me, but comforted me and that the voice hadn't said a word since I had gotten here. It would usually speak all the time in a language I didnt understand, only to say things in english every once in a while. I felt suddenly empowered in this familiar world. Almost as if I could.... My thoughts were interrupted when the girl returned with the water. "Why dont you come inside mister, it doesnt seem like you have anywhere else to go." She must have known I didnt have a home from my tattered and torn clothing as well as my lack of hygiene. I drank my water before I said anything, so I wouldn't further embarass myself because of my scratchy voice. "I'd quite like that," I said, suprising myself. The girl smiled and grabbed my hand. A shiver ran down my spine but it was a good one, one that you get when you drink hot chocolate on a warm day. I was beginning to like this strange girl, a lot.

For years I drowned in waves of torment and hate, suffering from the sins of my life. Finally one day I washed up to a sandy shore where no life existed. My face was chafed with all the lies, betrayal and trickery I once faced. For what seemed like forever I layed there, having no intention to go on. After some time I began to hear whispering in the depths of my mind. Something ominous spoke to me in a slithering tone. I will not speak these words for I fear you will face the same fate I have. All I shall say is that it told me to walk, nowhere in particualr just to walk. I got up and began walking down into a seemingly endless void of darkness. While in my solitude I began to hate light or any type of brightness at all. It reminded me of the happiness i once had that now disgusted me so. I hated the memories I had with my family before the "accident" as my father had called it. My head began to throbb with excrusciating pain. To make matters worse, as a cruel reminder that the small amount of life I clung to still existed, a bright light suddenly came into view. I covered my eyes seeking sanctum and eventually adjusted to the light. I peered closer and noticed that a girl had been staring at me very oddly, like the freak that I was. "Hello," she said politely. I hated her smug tone so I answered in my rudest voice,"Hello." I hadn't realized how long it had been since I had last spoken, and my voice was very hoarse. "It seems u have a bit of a sore throat,"said the woman, "let me go fetch you some water." Before I could tell her that I didnt want her assistance she was already off. My feet ached from the long journey to this unexpected, loathsome place. I collapsed and to my suprise i was comforted by the softness of grass. Almost by instinct I looked up. My heart skipped a beat when i saw the beautiful sky and shining sun. "Im alive again?" I thought to myself.
