About
I am an English major with a minor in Arabic, and I love to study and learn. I read and write in my free time, and watch some of my favorite T.V shows such as Frasier, Conan, or What Not To Wear (lol). I love libraries, and go to my local library as often as I can. I hate seafood, well, I hate most meats except for turkey and chicken. I eat a looot of Tofu. I dislike people who gossip about others, and are judgmental, spoiled, or rude. Nobody gets anywhere by being rude to others!I like Miyazaki films and anime shows such as Death Note, Sailor Moon, Inuyasha, and Eden of the East. My favorite books include East of Eden, of Mice and Men, Lord of the Flies, Johnny Got His Gun, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, Anagrams, Pride and Prejudice, Memoirs of a Geisha, Frankenstein, The Turn of the Screw, as well as many other books that I do not want to take the time to list, xD.
On most days I go for a run, or go window shopping with a few friends ( I especially love farmers markets and tea shops). I love curling up on my couch on a rainy day with a book and some hot tea. I also like to play Assassins Creed and Zelda when I can. smile Now that you know something about me, tell me something about you! heart

Howdy, folks!
Below you'll find the list of assigned selections from Labyrinths. Start with "Borges and I," from the Parables section. It will explicate, in Borges fashion, a key aspect of his writing: metafiction. At that point you may go in any direction you like. In some ways, the Parables are the easiest to grasp, since they are short, single concept writings. The Essays will explain some ideas that pop up in the Fictions, so no matter what order you read them in, try to make connections between the ideas. Remember that you'll be discussing these selections on the Valley AP English Discussion Forums. Get registered on the forums as soon as possible--the guidelines for posting are there. Additionally, the Summer Reading Project handout is posted on the main page and downloadable from the forums.
