She's the one who said I hate you when I said I love you.She tied me down just to hear my screams.
She laughed at my sadness,
And accused myself of ruining her life.
She never knew what it was like living my life.
I guess she never cared.
I tried to leave her and this dreadful life,
But she never payed any mind.
She watched as I died,
with a face so apathetic and cruel.
She laughs at my choices and my ways,
And hates me for loving others.
And still, somehow,
I find comfort in her screams, shouts and orders.
And even if she doesn't show it,
I know there is love inside.
She saved me from the worst experiance of my life,
And that, to me, is love indeed.
The first time I glanced into those old eyes,
And she glanced back with something like compassion in her smile,
I knew.
No matter what she says or does,
No matter how much she claims to hate me,
She still loves me.
Today I seek to hear those three words escape her aged and dry lips.
"I love you," she'll say.
"Yes Mom," I'll reply, "I love you too."
