Most therians go through m-shifts, or mental shifts, where they act more like their theriotype. The closest thing to p-shifting, or physical shifting, is when the person feels phantom limbs relating to their theriotype. I, for instance, constantly feel a tail and ears. There have been reports of actual p-shifting but many are skeptical and dont think it actually exists as no proof has been offered. But, I think it can be accomplished.
However, most wolf therians feel like being called a lycanthrope lycan for short) is too close to fantasy. You see, therians are based in real-world creatures. Most see the existance of werewolves or lycans) as fantasy. I, however, dont mind being called a lycanthrope. Its whatever. Lol
A breakdown of the word therianthrope. Therianthrope comes from two words: Therion meaning beast and Thrope which means man. That being said, therianthropy is not limited to wolves. A Therian can be anything, be it a wolf, fox, panther, salamander, raven, etc. However, wolf is the most popular theriotype by far. Wolf therians can be more accurately called Lycanthropes. Lycan, of course, meaning wolf.
