Let's see...I'm a 24 year old girl living in San Marcos and studying English at Texas State University. I just finished my teaching block at New Braunfels High School, and I'll be doing my student teaching next semester. I was raised in Austin, Texas, but I was born in San Diego, California.
I love the beach, but hate the sun. I listen to pretty much any kind of music (rock, hip hop, J-pop, country, bluegrass, death metal, classical - seriously, anything). I love to watch plays and musicals, but my favorite activity is reading. I'll read pretty much anything, but my favorite kind of books are sci-fi and fantasy. I'm a bit of a manga/anime fanatic as well.
Some day I hope to become a published novelist. I've been writing sci-fi/fantasy stories since I was little and, even if I never get published, I don't think I could ever stop.
Recently I've been writing poetry more than stories though. I got a couple published in a literary magazine in Spring 2011. xd
I also love to watch old movies. A lot of movies today substitute plot with special effects and hot actors. I prefer watching something with a little more substance. Some movies I like to watch are Road to Bali, Young Frankenstein, House of Usher (also a really good short story by Poe), Throne of Blood, Ghost Cat of Otama Pond, and Barberella.
Among the more recent movie I like to watch are Troll, Legend, Labyrinth (David Bowie is so awesome), Chicago, Kill Bill, It, Secret Window, Spiral (Uzumaki), and Dreams (Yumi).
As for books, I've been reading the Sword of Truth and the Dragon Reborn series since middle school. Tolken's books are an old favorite. I've read most of the Ann Rice vampire novels. I've read all of Amelia Atwater-Rhodes' books (Demon in My View is my favorite) and I'm awaiting the next Sookie Stackhouse myserty novel with baited breath. I've started on the Ender's Game books. I love Do Robots Dream of Electric Sheep (better known as Bladerunner). I've read Far Harbor and Silver Princess, Golden Knight more times then I can count. And if you want a series that will really get your emotions running high, try Thomas Covenant.
When it comes to anime/manga, the list goes on and on. I read everything from Fruits Basket to Demon Diaries, Mars to Labyrinth (I can't believe they turned it into a manga!). Inuyasha is a favorite and Hellsing is awesome (I love Alucard!). Trigun, PhD: Phantasy Degree, Angel Diaries, Bizenghast, Dazzel (Alzied!), Immortal Rain, Irresponsible Captain Taylor, Wallflower, Night Walker - like I said, on and on and on...

and as usual school work keeps me from being online but not for long i get summer 23rd (it was 19th but extended for snow days)
