truth hides behind the lies

The girl was the charming sort

so sweet and so polite

so achieving. So bright.

he picked up on it all

she had to slowly intimidate

too make life begin to look hazy



insidiously and slowly

he questioned his own reality

Twisted so much

they told him it was a case of abnormality



Never tried to figure out what was going on

he just became a second pawn

this time a project of the system



Drugged with a daily pill

now happy and content

now smiling,

no longer

questioning intent



All eased and at peace

the same deception continued

But now he no longer worried

and neither did they

he was pleasantly subdued

and out of the way.
