Background: Nina Damfino and her partner, Diedre Vance, were part of an underworld bondage scene, in a secret fetish club called Pandora's Box. Seeking newer and greater thrills, they both turned to crime, and by chance, held up a strange man wearing question marks as he was walking out of his own robbery.
The man was Edward Nygma, and he hired them both on the spot. She took on the name Echo ("answer" wink , and has since aided him in many crimes...and Edward always makes sure to give her her share.
The three of them run on a system of trust, and have at times betrayed each other to make an escape, only to later help free their partner(s) from prison. It has also been implied that there may or may not be a relationship going on between them.
