Yo~! How've you guys been lately?



I've been all right; nothing different lately. Except I've been listening to Hamasaki Ayumi, an artist I had been gradually phasing out, a lot more often than ever. Now I usually listen to Ayu's albums instead of other artists, like Utada Hikaru or Do As Infinity. Perhaps it's because I can find whole albums of Ayu's songs compared to other artists...



Well, in any case, I should get back to working on my paper crane, yeah.

Anyway, this is just a random songfic that I felt like writing after listening to [i](miss)understood[/i], an album by Hamasaki Ayumi.  The song is called [i]In The Corner[/i], and in my opinion it's a deep and moving song.  I quite like it.







Yes, this is [i]another[/i] SasukexSakura fanfic.  After all, [i]In The Corner[/i] [u]is[/u] a love song. [IMG]http://s2.cdn.gaiaonline.com/images/common/smilies/icon_sweatdrop.gif[/IMG]  This time around, though, both Sasuke [i]and[/i] Sakura are speaking--simultaneously, instead of one person voicing their thoughts for one stanza and the other doing the same for another.  In other words, this songfic is a conversation between the two.  I think the song can be interpreted by both sides, so that's why.  However, while I usually try to fill in the spaces between the stanzas with my own "interpretations", I haven't completely covered the meaning of each stanza in this song.  That's because I personally feel that they're self-explanatory and easy to understand [i]without[/i] an interpretation; therefore, the "interpretations" are just filler, Sasuke and Sakura's reactions to each other based on the lyrics. The item will be an evolving item (sadly), but the beauty of it is that it caters not only to those who want angel-style wings, but also to those who want dragon, bat, bird, etc. wings.  Well?  Why not?  Go check it out some time, if you can!







I normally don't "recommend" petitions to people (not even if I feel very strongly about their ideas), but since I had been exchanging a few PMs with the OP and they asked me nicely to tell my friends about their petition, I decided to go along.  After all, they [i]did[/i] ask me politely, and I can't say no to people when they ask me nicely like that.  (Unless it's my dad, because I usually have to do the same things repeatedly for him.  Ugh.)

Sakura peered intently at her (inadequate) reflection in the mirror, her small, thin fingers splayed out on the ice-smooth, diamond-like surface of the silver-backed glass.  Carefully taking tiny, shallow breaths in order not to fog the mirror, she mentally recounted the flaws she found in her reflection.







She saw the too-pale, too-clear complexion of her soft-shaped face, the overly bold roses blooming hatefully in her smooth cheeks.  She noted with distaste her dollish, tiny lips, so like a cherry blossom petal in color and texture, and her sickeningly wide forehead, her worst feature, the sole trait that branded her a "freak".  She disgustedly glared at her fragile white hands with their spindly, breakable fingers, her weakly thin limbs that she called "arms" and "legs".  She bitterly (and silently) lamented over her excessively slender figure, mentally bemoaning her lack of lean, lithe muscles for strength as well as round, voluptuous breasts and curvy, sensuous hips for seduction.







She found no satisfaction or joy in her dull malachite eyes.  She only saw flat disappointment in her silky, limp pink hair.







Only focused on what was outside, she didn't see the hardened damascus-steel will peeking out from behind her soft, girlish features.  She never noticed the shaking, nervous courage that nevertheless managed to push her to the very limits of her abilities.  She never found the vivacious, joyful, and charming personality that irked and endeared her to others, never discovered the all-encompassing, almost overwhelming concern she had for those dear to her (especially [i]him[/i], though he never attempted to notice her).  She never focused on her stunning, near-genius intellect, her undying, steady loyalty to her friends, her family, her village...her home.







She never saw any of that, only her unsatisfactory girl's physique.







A single small tear trickled wordlessly down her cheek and splashed onto the vanity table, but she made no move to wipe it away.  Sakura continued staring silently at her reflection, her gaze so intense, it was almost as if she were attempting to challenge it.







Had anyone been watching this silent scene full of despair, they might have attempted to comfort the poor Haruno, might have tried to deny the harsh and salt-stinging slights she was mentally slinging at herself.  Had anyone been watching her cry, they might have wished she had seen something other than her reflection.







But no, not [i]him[/i].  Because he simply couldn't care less if she cried her eyes drier than a desert for his sake.  Because he never looked at her on her best-looking days, not even once.  Because he simply did hold her in his heart.







Because he was salty-sour-bitter and she was sweet, sweet, sweet.

Ay, sorry for not commenting for so long! You see, now that I usually write fanfiction or poems in my comments, I've had a complete and utter lack of ideas for fanfiction, hence my long period without visiting you guys. I'm terribly sorry if you missed me!

I have an announcement to make.



I'm no longer writing fanfiction in comments. I've been running out of ideas, so I'm going to take a long hiatus until I can regain some of my energy. I don't think it's much of a loss anyway.



Sorry if you guys kind of looked forward to my fanfics and stuff, but I'm not actually giving up on writing. I'm just taking a break, that's all.

She is the butterfly,



Fragile, unchanging, beautiful.



Her wings dance lightly upon the wind



As if even feathers rivaled her in weight



And flutter with a blinding crystal prism



Of gorgeous colors.  She is the frail chrysalis,



The changing from the dark to the light,



The growing of the naïve to the wise, at once a child



And a sage.  She is the hardy and solitary caterpillar,



Struggling



Against the harsh flow of time, yearning



To remain.







He is the snake,



The two-faced beast that destroys from within.



He knows nothing of others' pain.



His fangs, 



Gleaming sharper than damascus knives in the moonlight,



Strike with venom so potent, a single drop



Could kill a war-seasoned, hardened man.  His scales



Are icy, lifeless to the touch, so frigid that



Others mistake him for dead.  The blood that courses



Through his body does not warm; it does not give life.



It kills; it haunts; it destroys and wounds and scars.



He sheds his skin easily, disposing of unneeded



Memories, thoughts, dreams, desires.



Everything will eventually lose its importance to him.







He has lured her into his honey-covered trap.



Smothered with sugar, coated with dreams.



Lies.  Hope.



She does not know.



Willingly she accepts his tainted nectar,



Her innocence shielding her from doubt.



Snaking around her, caressing her clandestinely,



His deceitful tongue flickers in and out slyly, tasting



The ambrosia and nectar that he is about



To poison.



Slowly, pleasurably, he pulls out her wings,



Leisurely crushing the delicate fire rubies,



Spring emeralds, and ocean sapphires,



The wine-colored amethysts and amber topazes,



The clear diamonds and iridescent pearls,



All glittering with a sparkle even real gems



Cannot defeat.  All these colors



Shatter and splinter into a million



Prismatic shards, blending together



Like a twisted mosaic of fake jewels.



All cut uselessly against the stone-cold palm



Of his hand.  All turn into sparkling stardust.







He laughs as he watches the crimson blood



Trickling painstakingly down her bare back.



He smiles cruelly as her high angel-littlegirl-fairy's voice



Screams for help, for pity, her fingernails



Scrabbling against the thick steel chains of desire



With which he has so carefully bound her.



He can't help but smile.  He can't help but laugh.



Her pain means nothing to him.  It has no meaning, no value.







Then, after he has finished with her, he sheds his skin



Yet again,



Getting rid of the sickening naïveté,



Repulsive sweetness, and



Irritating purity that floats sinisterly about him,



Like oil on water.



He doesn't bother to hide his old skin, no--



Instead, he leaves it behind



As a souvenir, a tactless gift,



To the mere stalk of a butterfly



Whose glistening wings



He had just ripped out



Only moments ago.



He slithers away, escaping smoothly



Without a trace.  The hissing sound of his



Eerily flickering tongue fills the empt
