I have currently tested a blackjack strategy which has a theoretical average return of 1.32 gold (stdev 0.03 for n=1000) for a bet of 1 gold. For more information on this strategy, please read my journal.
I'm currently working on chemical bioinformatics as well as cognitive processing as seen in fMRI, particularly of faces. Sitting down and doing some series calculations and dependence relations is my cup of tea. I like to solve the messy and complicated problems that others simplify.
Music:
In my other life, which is generally equal to the previous one, I am a semi-pro counter tenor. Yes, I'm a guy with a female avatar and a female-like voice. I tend to sing music from 1200-1600, 1700-1850 and sometimes I delve into more modern pieces. I like lots of resonance and resounding chords, which I tend to find lacking in lots of modern music. Other than that, I feel that pieces should express some idea and have many layers of meaning. This, and the fact that no one writes good music in Dutch, is why I have taken to writing some pieces of my own.
