History: Ephydriad was raised as an only-child in a fairly typical lower-middleclass household. Her parents are both relatively normal humans, with no interest in anything mystical. Blake Rogers, her father, served as the manager for a local fast food restaurant for many years, and has only recently retired. Belinda, her mother, cleans houses three days a week, and will probably never completely retire.

Ephy's interest in mystical studies began when she hit puberty, and started out as a mere act of rebellion. However, once her parents irritation became disgruntled acceptance, she found her appreciation of occultic studies had grown beyond just wanting to annoy her elders.

Further attempts at rebelling against authority drew her to graffiti and minor acts of civil disobedience. Through graffiti, she found her gift for sigil magic. This annoyed local authorities greatly, and she has spent a fair amount of time doing community service as a result. In exchange for 'keeping her nose clean', Ephy's parents agreed to let her pursue magic schooling. She is now in her sixth year of magic studies.

Ephy has a gift for focusing magic through tools, but is unable to competently focus magic through her own body. As a result, she has a moderate resistance to magic that targets her body- even if it's beneficial magic (for example, healing). For some reason, potions bypass this resistance, and tend to be twice as potent on her.

Favorite Sigil: Fortune Sigil - This sigil provides 24 hours of good luck and fortune to the caster, and also to those who meditate upon it. After 24 hours the sigil (and its effects) fizzle out in a sparkling gold puff of smoke.
