Hello mon chers. I'm Esme Cullen and not only am I the mother of seven lovely childern, I'm also the wife of Carlisle Cullen, the creater of this all. My story isn't as short as the others. In fact it's a little complexed. If I may, I would like to share my story with you.
I was born some time in 1895. Little is known about my early life, except that I lived near the outskirts of Columbus. I met Dr. Carlisle Cullen for the first time when I was 16 and had just broken my leg climbing a tree. Dr. Carlisle Cullen was then soon transfered to another hospital out of town, but I never forgot the experience of being in his hands.
While I initially wanted to move West to become a school teacher, I was pressured by my parents to remain and marry. At the age of 22 I married Charles Evenson, hoping to please my parents and willing to attempt to be happy, but soon realized that my husband was an abusive man. My parents coached me to keep face, and much to my relief, my husband got drafted during World War I. A while after he came back I found out that I was pregnant, which gave me a bigger motive to run away. I fled north to live with my sister and become a teacher, and in 1921 my son was born, but he subsequently died a few days later of a lung infection.
After my baby's death, I felt that I no longer had any reason to live. I tried to commit suicide by jumping off a cliff, and was presumed dead when I was brought into the morgue, though my heart was still beating. Dr. Cullen was working in the area at the time and recognized me as the happy, beautiful young girl he had treated ten years earlier. Carlisle did not want me to suffer any longer, and decided to change me into a vampire as I was dying anyway. I then married Carlisle and joined the Cullen's coven where I soon became a mother to six. Soon after that I became a mother to seven, welcoming Bella into the family.
My family say I'm an 'extremely warm individual who is gifted with the ability to love passionately'. I'm also described as being 5'6", with caramel colored hair. Like the rest of the Cullen family I too, has golden eyes that fade to black when I'm thirsty, pale skin that sparkles in the sunlight, and purple circles under my eyes that fade when I'm well-fed. I have a heart-shaped face and my figure is described as being slender, but rounded and softer. When Bella first met me, she says that I reminded her of Snow White. Bella also described me as being similar to "one of the ingenues of the silent movie era." I have always had a maternal ache in me, allowing myslef to open my heart to her adoptive children and to my Bella.
