I'm nineteen, in college, now majoring in mechanical engineering. I want to design telescopes for NASA if I don't die under a pile of books and calculators while working to graduate.
Despite my math-i-ness, I am fairly well-read and love to talk about books and take recommendations for good reads. Feel free to hit me up with suggestions, unless your suggestions include young-adult vampire novels.
Currently reading: House of Leaves.
Also, sometimes I come off as a little abrasive. I do my best not to be a total b***h, but sarcasm and my dark sense of humor tend to dictate otherwise. Try not to take it too personally, It's only the internet. Also, I probably won't take you too seriously. Just as a forewarning.
Other things I enjoy doing and talking about include:
Video games. I worked at Gamestop for a good while (and still pick up shifts here and there), and carry my DS with me everywhere more faithfully than I carry my license.
Art that isn't anime. I know this is an anime site. When I joined, I was so into large-eyed Japanese cartoons that it was actually pretty sad. Since then, I've moved on. Not that I don't have a few things that have stayed in a special place in my heart. I'm just not obsessed and much prefer discussing Dali to DBZ.
Cooking. Especially Italian cooking. Half of my family is painfully Italian, and my kitchen reflects it. I love to cook when I'm home and have a fully-stocked kitchen at my disposal, and I really like trying new things.
Mice. It's a little odd, but I really like keeping mice as pets. I find them adorable and endearing, My current living situation doesn't allow me to keep any of the little furballs right now, but once I'm living comfortably in something other than a dorm, this will change.
New things. If you do something not too many people have ever done, and you want to share, I'd love to hear it. I like fun stories and adventures, and I'm always looking for something unique to try.
Body modification. I don't exactly look it if you see me fully dressed in a professional setting, but I'm quite pierced and slowly building up on ink. I keep it easily hidden for the sake of having a real job some day, but that doesn't mean I don't think it's one of the coolest things ever.
