Yeah; new cities are pretty easy to adjust to.. as long as you have some friends that can help out and you are good with remembering things! >3

Ewww; work bites!

Cities are better then the middle of nowhere! XD
I lived somewhere with 20,000 people before.. that was pretty bad. ;p

You'll get used to the new city, it takes a bit of time.. but you will!~

I haven't rode a horse in sooooo long!
I'd probably suck so hard at it now. lol

I'm in a city.. I'd probably be screwed if I lived in the country.. since I don't drive! XD

The flatness can be pretty at times. >3
But yeah.. it's boring here!

Winter is fairly long.. cold, and lots of snow! ;p
I love it though, the snow is beautiful, and I'd much rather be cold then warm.. easier to make yourself warm then it is to cool yourself off! XD

How do you like Alberta?!
Do you live in a city.. or the middle of nowhere?

still, you get what I mean right?
saying someone loves me doesn't change anything if they never bother to show it.

oh I hold no ill will in his/her/it's direction. I just simply don't think he/she/it exists. If God loves me or hates me, makes no difference to me if they're making no effort to show it either way.

all older members of my family besides my mother and father passed when I was a child from natural causes. their passing has nothing to do with my choice. people die, it happens.
the events mainly had to do with the churches I attended and the beliefs people told me I should believe that I didn't agree with. so I left the church and did my own research with the bible and I still didn't agree with what was being said as true. so I cut out the bible altogether and soul searched for a while until I realized that believing in god wasn't making my life any better or worse.
god just wasn't really integrated in my life enough to make any impact. god may be around or maybe not.
it really makes no difference to me since it's as if god doesn't exist already.
so if god does nothing to impact my life, maybe god isn't there.
I'm not sad with that decision. it's just something I don't have any need to worry about.
If people are impacted by the belief in god in a good way then I'm happy for them.
the belief in god does great things for many people.
it's just that god hasn't impacted my life in any way whatsoever.
I've never "felt the spirit" even when I was a child.
I've never had any sort of feeling of knowing like so many believers say they've felt. just nothing.
and I'm ok with that. if I started believing in god right now just for the sake of hope, it wouldn't change anything.
my life would still be the same as it was yesterday.

oh I was raised in a christian denomination until I was 18, I wasn't born an atheist or anything. I was quite the believer for a very long time. just certain events and revelations over a span of about four years brought me to my decision. I don't feel that my life is lacking or anything without god. I'm perfectly happy where I am. Some people need god in their lives and there's nothing wrong with that.
I see the existence of god as impossible to prove or disprove since there's really nothing in the ways of physical evidence to point in either direction. the only thing you can do is choose what side you think is correct. neither choice is wrong or right. it's merely taking a side to a question we'll never know the answer to until we die.

yeah but with the technology we have now, we can't just make up an animal and hope people believe it's real. DNA testing tells you exactly what the creature is.
we'll never really know if the stories in the bible or any ancient writing on a stone wall actually happened since we have nothing to really compare it to. we can't say jesus even existed because we don't know his genetic makeup, so even if we found bones of someone who was supposedly jesus, we could never prove it was really him.
the fable of the boy who cried wolf doesn't have to be real. the boy in the story probably never existed but the moral of the story isn't marred because of that though.
that's kind of how I see the bible. it may be true in some parts but that's really beside the point. as long as the morals of those stories are intact, that's all that matters.

you do know the muslims believe in the same god as christians right? different religions, same god. muslims just came from Abraham's son Ishmael rather than Isaac.
also there was an eruption on mt ararat in 1840 that would have destroyed any evidence of an ark, so whatever was found up there is newer than that.
and even then, with the variety of creatures there are now including insects, I still just don't see how the ark would have been big enough to hold even a fraction of their possible ancestors and a year's supply of their food. the measurements were clearly given in the bible so there's no changing that.

yes but what proof is there that it actually happened? I mean all we have is the bible and that was written by man (and we all know how corrupt humans can be).
also if one doesn't believe in evolution, then the story of noah would be impossible. the measurements given to build the ark are maybe a third of the size of the largest cruise ship out there today. it would require a ship the size of new york (the state) to hold two of every animal on earth, plus their food for over a year. noah and his family, and their food for a year. that story probably was exaggerated quite a bit. back then, stories of kings were exaggerated to show off their greatness, this one just so happened to go a little off the deep end.

I'm an atheist, I was just curious about your thoughts.

yes but which parts do you take literally and which ones spiritually and metaphorically? take the book of genesis for example. do you think adam and eve were actual people or something of a fable? or noah's ark even, that story alone seems to be purely metaphorical or exaggerated quite a bit.

so, so you take the bible literally, metaphorically, or a mix of the two?
