When I Close my Eyes
When I close my eyes
I see shining jewels embedded
On a dark mysterious sheet of nothing
Glistening like the frosty pale blossoms of Winter
Dripping with dewdrops of icy dawn
When I close my eyes
I see a golden glare gleaming
Radiant in form
Pushing through the darkness
And revealing hope
When I close my eyes
A soft white palette peeks out
And sings to the azure waters
Who dance in serenity
And gently rest their heads
Upon the tiny grains that form the softest cushion
When I close my eyes
The sparkling jewels unite together
Along with their immense colleagues
And hide amongst a void of swirling mist
Where positions are arranged
In order to maintain their solar business
When I close my eyes
Two silhouettes parade together
And pursue each other
Across the void of hidden secrets
Until both meet and disappear into the horizon
When I close my eyes
Sheer darkness is greeted
With an insignificant character
Of sapphire and emerald
Shining with bliss and flawlessness
Holding a sign that says
‘Home Sweet Home’
When I close my eyes
I smile at the shimmering little gem
In which I dwell, measuring up
To every sort of satisfaction
Love and warmth forms in my very soul
As I gaze upon this glorious paradise
When I open my eyes
My dream has ended
My paradise shattered
I am now confronted
With a nightmare
