Mizuki was born of a demon lord named Kanryu and a human woman named Saria but as soon as her mother found out she was pregnant with the child, Kanryu saw to it that when it was born it was to be given away immediatly. Her mother went into labor on the night of the new moon and had a beautiful baby girl with hair black as midnight itself and with this Kanryu thought the child to be human so he let it be. When Mizuki grew to be five years old her hair had grown out lovely and her nails were sharper than those of a kid for her age. Her father knew she was not human, but a half demon, which to him was a disgrace and he felt it would tarnish his pride and demonic status he held so he gave Mizuki to Kanae, a traveling priestess who was in the area, to take the child and find a place for her or if no other wanted her than to find a group of demons and let them kill her. Kanae was stricken at this and she took Mizuki with her but she could not take her as her own for she was but a child herself so she asked her mother Shikaru to take her but the lady was ill stricken and on the verge of death. Mizuki stayed the night there but as midnight came she took out her pendant with her picture inside and she put it onto her neck then dressed in a black and purple haori pajama set and she took her teddy bear and she ran into the forest leaving from kanae's protection. She had taken the short sword she was given for her birthday in the hilt at her right side and as she walked through the forest she could smell stew cooking nearby. Heading south more she noticed her feet begin to hurt her and she was thirsty from the long journey from the northern lands. Getting closer to the smell she fainted along side the road and a passing traveler noticed her and carried her to the nearest village, She woke up the next morning and she saw a beautiful woman who she thought was an angel and she asked her if she was dead and if this was heaven. The lady laughed and smiled at her then shook her head and told her that it was her home and that she was safe. Mizuki nodded and coughed a little and the woman gave her some tea so she tried to sit up but her muscles ached and she could not. A man entered the room wearing the guard of a samurai and she heard the lady ask him to bring the child something to eat and with her surprise the man nodded saying yes my lady and went along. Mizuki sat up the best she could and she asked the lady if she were royalty or something and the lady smiled and spoke telling her that her name was Izayoi and she was a princess and also not to worry for she would look after her until she were better. Mizuki looked down and Izayoi asked her about her family and if anyone would get worried about looking for her and Mizuki did not respond for she felt she could not because she did not know why her parents abandoned her and left her for dead basically. Looking to the lady she took out the small sword and she put it down beside her and she spoke telling her that it was a gift from the priestess that had found her and Izayoi took it and saved it within the castle until she would be old enough for fights. Izayoi took her in and adopted her as her daughter against the will of her parents, but they soon came to love Mizuki just as she came to love them. She was happy and for the first time in her life she was treated with such kindness and love, two things she had never known. One day her mother gave her a bucket and told her to go to the lake and get some water handing her the short sword for protection from snakes. She nodded and left the house and ran to the lake holding the bucket close in her hands going as fast as her feet would take her. She got there and put water in the bucket then as she was making her way back she heard screams and the sound of a baby crying. Mizuki ran a little faster pushing herself to get back home but when she got there the castle was on fire and she saw the man leaving from the front entrance, She grew angry but could not do anything as she was just forced to watch from the bushes nearby. Ten years went by and she was staying in a small fisherman's village in exchange for protecting the waters they let her reside there, but in the most isolated hut of course but she did not mind. She was now fifteen and very beautiful with long raven black hair and eyes the color of the most beautiful amber shade anyone had ever seen. She kept the sword in her hilt and she had ears that made her look as if she were the child of an elf and she was often clowned for it but she did not ever mind it for it gave her a place to stay. As time passed she wondered if her mother had ever made it out before the castle had burnt to the ground but she swore vengeance on the man she saw that day and she vowed she would kill him if ever she met up with him for revenge on her mother and her home. As she walked down the path she went sit by the water and put her feet in for a moment looking up at the sky. A demon pulled her under and her sword was on the grass beside the tree where she was sitting before and she was being drowned. She struggled to get free but the demon would not release her, feeling her breath get really short she noticed the water around her swirl as if it were a tornado. Mizuki gasped for breath then noticed something had fallen into the water and it looked like an arrow, all she saw was a bright purple light and the demon was killed and she was sinking to the bottom as she didn’t yet know how to swim. She saw a man with long nails and even longer hair than hers but his was bright silver and his eyes were the same color as her own. She was saved by him and she caught her breath but when she looked around he was gone. She went back to the village and asked around but no one seemed to know who she was talking about. Mizuki coughed then laid down in the hut and went back to sleep only to find herself dreaming of her mother and she opened her eyes and looked out the window wishing to one day find her and she sighed then vowed to herself that if she heard news of her mothers death she would take revenge on the one responsible.
