About

Blood literally fell from the sky in tiny orbs of hatred as Halycon clutched his shoulder. The war had been going on for almost a millennium, and now it had reached its climax. His own blood ran down his arm and between his fingers as he clutched the shoulder tighter to stop the bleeding. Death wasn't an option, not now.

The planet was dead. Every life on the planet was still fighting for their place their home, which was already gone. The soil once rich and fertile had turned into grey dust that infuriated the lungs when breathed in. The verdant foliage had long disappeared, and people on the planet had turned in a way color blind to the once plentiful color. Water was manufactured now in giant factories where atoms were collided day and night without stop. Food had been reduced to pellets like hamster food. All the bodies' nutrients were packed into little brown cylinders with little or no taste.

The Guardians had failed, Halycon had failed, but he wasn't ready to admit to the well known fact. Clenching his sword in had, he staggers into a clumsy dash at his enemy and slashes through him, kneeling once more as the lifeless body drops behind him. His breathing was jerky and the world around him had started to blur. No, he couldn't die here, not this way. Halycon's sword drops to the dust as he slumps forwards catching himself with open palms before he could hit the dust. He coughs harshly as the dust irritated his lungs. It felt like someone was trying to dissect him from the inside. Blood rolls from the corner of his mouth and down his chin as he watches the ground.

"Guardian's Guidance..." Halycon manages to wheeze before he hits the dust and the world goes black.

Many more millennium have passed since then.

No one is exactly sure how the war was won. The planet once desolate and dead slowly started living again. An entirely new kingdom of animals and plants appeared, aiding the planet's rebirth. Towns have sprung up around the twisted metal ruins of cities and factories that still stand to this day. However, the technology is no where near what the people once had. Everyone seems to live comfortably none the less, and they continue living without knowing what happened to their home so very long ago. It's rumored that there is an old library under the factory which holds a documentation of the battle until its final days, but no one believes that.

Outside of the towns the forests, grasslands, and oceans rule all. A large cave juts out from the ground a few miles outside of one of the major towns, Ecra. There no one seems to visit. Most people think that only animals live there, and that there's no reason to investigate it further, but there is...

Encased in a sapphire crystal, Halycon lays dormant, and his sword tip jutting outwards from the stone. There he has remained undisturbed. The energy of the planet has fed him, and kept his body alive in it inanimate state until now. The abundance of life energy stored up in the earth has found its way into the cave and Halycon, awakening him for the first time in many, many years...
