Hermione -
is derived
from the name
of the Greek
god Hermes.
Hermes was
the Greek
god of speed
and good luck.
This was also the
name of a character in
Shakespeare's play
'The Winter's Tale'.
JKR chose the name
from Shakespeare's
play, although she says
that the two characters
are not alike.
Jane - is derived
from a number of names
which when traced come
back to meaning 'gracious.'
Granger -
means 'a farm bailiff,'
originally from Latin 'granum'
meaning 'grain'

September 19 1989
Family:
Hermione's parents are
both Muggles and they are
both dentists. Hermione has a
younger sister (Muggle).
This is never mentioned
in the books, but JKR mentioned
it in an interview. It's probably
too late for the sister to make
an appearance now,
so it's unlikely we will hear
about her in the upcoming books.
Physical Appearance:
Brown haired girl, with cinnamon
brown eyes (with a bossy sort of voice).

Intelligent, brave, loyal, very logical.
