His clan rivals with the Inuzuka clan, and after a brutal fight between the two, Higemaru became skittish and nervous, not to mention timid.
He's on a search to locate any of his clan members hopefully to still be alive. He was rescued by a Sand ninja and travels with her to find his lost clan members.
Luckily he has his feline companions, Kedi and Mao, even if they do fight all the time and get on Higemaru's nerves.
