Gadflykins, Gladtrypins, Gutterpuss? Odd names the prince found foreign but paid no heed to question. Orin kept his eyes closed as he knew that only true believers who closed their eyes could see with them like that the magic folk. Just what would they think of him, this brash prince who was cursed beyond belief to his mind?
He knew he was no better than they were...but they were magical folk which haunted and enchanted his imagination and dreams.

He knew no better than just to keep his eyes shut and ask questions later. Cole's voice was heard. Thymeus? Was there..someone there...? Orin kept his eyes shut, unsure if it was yet time to open them again. Little did he know that an annoyed Thymeus awaited to meet eyes with this new mortal and eager trolls and gnomes scattered round to talk and whisper to Cole their stories and tales.
Orin whispered, "All I see is...oh." and opened his eyes, only to have his mouth at hinge agape. Sparkling beings, fascinating wonders! The prince could never believe to have found such an open and magnificent doorway to this magical world.

Orin's agape mouth grew into that of an enchanted grin and he looked at Cole with wondering eyes, a thankful look to have shared this world. Thymeus growled and batted itself against Orin, misused for the lack of manners. Orin flinched and looked at the fae in confusion and then at Cole.
"Thymeus?" he asked solemnly.

Her innocence, her beauty and love for those who was unaccepted and feared behind the eyes clouded by hate and the pollution of the world today--this girl truly was special. What special powers lie dormant beneath that smile; what angelic miracles had she up those sleeves and at her finger tips? Orin believed her to be tricking him into believing she had no more to offer and forever more would she fool him, wouldn't she?

Orin said softly, "My beautiful Cole," and kissed her hands tenderly, "I shall watch them and marvel them...as long as you shall be with me." and he brought her close by gently pulling her waist closer. Closer. Orin could almost feel his breath drawing to a close. Her breath braced itself against his cheek and tickled his smile.

Rising to his feet, and taking her lovely hands, those beautiful hands, "And I shall show you the wonders of my kingdom one day..I shall take it by force and you shall live in it with me...and..." Orin brought a hand to his lips and kept it there, eyes still on hers like glue. "I shall never let my love falter as you love shall never falter for your friends...they'll always be welcome...for you, Cole. For you." he said softly, his voice never shaking.

"Oh..." Elias lowered his head, eyes hidden behind his blond hair. Turning away, he kicked the ground with his feet and chewed his lip until it started bleeding. "I see..."

The younger girl pouted, jutting out her full lip some what with a wry smile. "Heehee. Cole. I'm not that kept-up to not know about your little...arrangement with Orin~!" she giggled. She latched herself unto Cole's arm and let her laughter surround.
"Have you..done the grown up thing? Have you kissed? Heehee!" Merry, as curious as ever, giggled.

[[Oh. I'm sorry! I always used to spell it faerie. Many time's my teacher's would take marks off for that in spelling quizzes, but I remain stupefied. It shall always be -faerie- to me. ]]

Transfixed by her innocence and fascination of creatures he himself have never seen, he could only grin. Faerie sight? It sounded like a gift, a supernatural gift that only those of holy baptismal or birth could partake and receive. A marvellous gift that enchanted the young prince's lips and made his eyes sparkle at the zealous words.
He said "I would not know..." and looked away, embarrassed he had no stories of his encounters to offer.

Although he truly believed in the folk of the mythical, Orin, the prince who knew about witches and curses, knew not if he had caught sight of any glimmering lights of that of a sprite. However, it did not mean everything before himself.

Turning back to Cole, he came so close that his indignant lips were beside her ears and whispered, "I may have caught a faerie. She's beautiful and her name is Cole. She has the most beautiful wings and waltz that could make any fancy sprite or pixie blue with jealousy..." the lightening in Orin's eyes danced and his smile grew.

What? Her pa--oh. Her adopted ones. Orin grinned and picked Cole up, bridal style and sat down, grinning cheekily at her in case she found this perhaps a little too flirtatious. (He mean no harm of course,) Considering her parents, they did not sound odd but perhaps a little something to worry about. And Orin only worried about things that bothered him and him only (unless his new found love was involved, added in of course)

Whipping his head to one side to flip away any rebellious curls that wanted face-space (as his arms and hands were occupied,) Orin nodded silently and thought. He'd love to meet her parents. He was worried, but he was not the kind of boy who would reject a girl because of a well awaited meeting with parents (those were cowards, by the way, the kind of boy he had talked about,)
Orin chuckled "I'll wait until you're ready, Cole. I swear it..."Orin blinked and then added in "T-to be married of course...! N-NOT THAT IF YOU WERE THINKING IT!" and he flushed red. Great move genius, his conscience scolded. Orin cleared his throat before gently placing his to-be-bride on the stump they had been sitting on earlier and scooted beside her, hopefully he hadn't offended her.
"S-sorry...I REAAAAALLY didn't mean it....l-like that..." he muttered.

The prince grinned. She was so eager. As Cole was a girl and so different from every other princess he had seen, she still dreamt like one. She wanted happiness in...his arms. HIS arms. Not only was that impractical, it seemed highly doubtful. He chuckled, cupping her face in his hands with gentle pressure and smiled, "Cole, it shall never fade. Our love. Even if some wicked other comes to steal you, I'll slay him and wait for you. Or I'll rescue you. There's an idea!" his flamboyant smile shook away what painful smile he was sinful enough to give her.

His curse. Feh. Compared to what love he had now, it barely bothered him. Cole's love made him feel...empowered. Strong. Kissing her briefly, he let his crooked grin return. Orin said "I'll marry you. And then we can live happily eve after. You'll be happy. Right?" Orin asked her and himself. Funny. He had almost said that as innocently and as naively as a 3 year old would. No back story nor after thought. Hell, there was hardly any consideration to their future. But, why question it? He was happy to be in their own dream world--away from what hells awaited them outside.

His heart was casting fireworks, a display of flying and butterflies finally being cast free and forth into a world of happiness that could never be contained. Sweet promises, swearing upon their life and after life and silly little jests of himself made him go red and turn away. They were both...tedious and ignorant to their little crush for each other. They were only children and they knew that, didn't they? Making promises they could never keep and telling each other that they were in love.

Despite this, they took comfort from this, Orin in particular. His condolences to whomever wished him this eternal happiness in the form of such a wonderful, beautiful girl. Before he knew it, his lips were planted on hers and then they weren't. This shy motion that proclaimed everything to the one you cared about said everything. Were lips meant to do this? Were they made by whoever just to do such a wonderful thing? Compared to Cole's brave, justifying words, Orin knew he was the shy one out of the two. He was word bound by love.
Bringing her face up to his own, he smiled, "Cole, I love you." and kissed her softly and briskly. Drawing back he whispered "I love you, my faerie princess" in a hushed, breath taken tone.

"No, my darling Cole, no. No it's not like that." Orin whispered tenderly. With gentle hands he took her own and kissed it lovingly, his lips brushing her skin. His eyes were pain stricken that he too, felt scared. Scared that she would run away and he would be left all alone.
Terrified she would leave him or be hurt by his actions alone. Cole's predictions may be ones to come true. What if she were to find a man who would be there for her? One who could love her as much as he did? One who was not cursed.

It shook him like a rag doll and tore him apart like a wheat thresher. Orin trembled as he spoke.
With delicate whispers as fine as silk he made sole promises "I'll be there when you wake. I'll stay with you when you're crying. And I'll come for you to love you all over when you are lonely." he defied his own fright and brought her hands in his to look her straight in the eyes and to say "I promise" for the first time in years.

Temptation pulled longingly within his heart to kiss her, completely interrupt that sweet voice. Just to let her know that he...was happy and wanted this of all things. What a shame. What a sinful thing to want and grieve for. Cole's voice was nothing to stop from giving it's aria and soul-nourishing music to feed the loneliness of ones heart. It had completely warmed his and this he kept close to himself like a sliver of happiness. This song, it sounded sad et very sweet. Was it denial, the lyric of the fake prince in this girl's dreams? Was this girl her?
Orin hesitated with the need to know the answer to this. Instead, he closed his eyes as they waltzed slowly, promising themselves over Cole's song. Was this really real? Between lines and frays, Orin would look at Cole to blush. She was...so wonderful.
And hear he was, hesitant to kiss her. What a shame.

Her word's burned his ears the the cheek she had planted yet another curse upon was on fire. An inferno had taken place from within his chest and soon it spread madly upon wherever it pleased. It tickled his lips which became a smile and made his feet light for his boots to move faster in the waltz. With long, dark eyelashes that brushed her cheeks, Orin brought Cole close with a meager grin that hung crookedly off his jaws. "Who said I'd be leaving, Cole-oh-so-fair?" and he twirled her on her toes.

Each word she should utter, his heart would flutter. Each time she'd whisper, he'd want to kiss her. Rhymes made his head spin and created fuel for the flame of his smile to burn and flicker. She was an excellent dancer and caused the dirt from underneath them to shift and crumble. Orin chuckled "Cole, you'll make your friends go blue with jealousy...your dancing might get your head lopped off by a jealous Queen of Hearts--but I shant let her!" Orin grinned from ear to ear, happy not only to be in his princely skin but to be a prince for Cole.

Orin blushed, muttering softly to himself "I would like to run away with Wonderland with you too." and the frog looked up at her with big beady, pleading eyes. Cole had a point there. If only the love was a blossoming sign of affections for each other would the curse really shatter underneath love's mighty weight.

With a slight breath, the frog closed his eyes with a solemn whisper of promise, "Cole, you don't need to worry about that" and soon the scene darkened as the curse tendrils came forth again and the frog was engulfed.
Unlike the transformation of human to frog, this one seemed less likely to cause him harm. He was silent as the leaved that fell.

As he changed he wondered, why was this? Why was it less harmful to him from changing back? Was it like a reward for accepting the curse for it's time? Or was it because there was someone there to accept it...hmmm? As corny and fundamental as it sounded, this curse was sure to bring maidens to tears or to high pitches yelling. Cole only did one of the two with her innocent eyes at the stake. No tears for Cole.

As the waves went back to hell and the young prince stood adjusting his cufflings, his boots scuffling on top of the dying curse magic, Orin turned and flamboyantly shook his hair to one side. Of course, being in your own skin was bound to make any man's day.
Orin grinned crookedly, "It's like as the song goes" Orin walked up to Cole to take her hands with a tender motion, "'I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream" and twirled her around in a waltz that would make any of her fellow faerie friends blue with jealousy.

The ringing sound in his ears went off like alarm bells and destroyed all other senses from coming in. The frog jerked it's head her way and could almost feel his insides wanting to splruge forth (and as disgusting as it sounded) it felt just like it.

The yanking in his chest meant his heart wanted to leap forth and waltz.
And above all, he was red. Orin muttered, "I'm afraid I can't help that," quickly before swallowing his pride and fright and looking away to squeeze his black beady eyes shut.

"And I'm afraid it is far too late for me to not fall in love with you" he added with a frightened glance. Of course, they were only children. Orin knew that and was ashamed by the fact that this might only be a silly crush. Crushes. What ridiculous things! "Don't bother...please. I don't want you to try. For now at least." The frog leap from her palm and stationed itself beside her. It glanced at her warily. "Please? We've..only just met...r-right...?" and blushed.

The young prince was reduced to nothing but to blush quietly to himself. If this kept up, Such offerings. Silly talk. Nonsense!
"I would know nothing of such songs you speak of," Orin replied bluntly, offended that his curse was hand in hand with a story with a bad ending as Cole had referred to.

The frog looked away but glanced at the girl from time to time. She was making him feel stupid once more, reducing him to feel at home in this slimy skin and small size.
Whether it was her fault or not, Orin gave in.

With a soft voice, he added in "but I shall be grateful to you if you are to find one, you alone will sing it. Just you. Only you. Understood?" The frog then met eyes with her and then looked away with a tender movement of sheepishness so quick that it lasted for only so long.

The song reminded him of the old nursery rhymes once hummed to him by a nanny or someone who had taken care of him. Certainly not his mother and he had no sisters he remembered or knew of. The frog could only close his eyes at the warmth his new love for this girl enveloped him like his curse.
Like a plague. A sickness.
Whatever it was it swallowed him and devoured him. And it was less painful to go through as much as the pain knowing that this curse was their boundaries.

"You sing quite beautifully, my faerie queen" Orin could grin if he could, but the frog remained emotionless. As much as he wanted to smile, hold her hands or at least...sit beside her. Just to adjust to the heat around his neck, the soft voice.
"are you singing of your many adventures with your friends? The faeries...?" he asked softly.
