About Me:Hello Everyone! My name is Alabee Ann Laidlaw but my nickname and user name for Gaia is obviously HinaMaple ^_^ I love chatting online and making all sorts of new friends so please feel free to send me a friend request and to chat me up if you see me around town or even send me a Private Message if you wish! Some of the other things I enjoy in life are my passion for reading as well as music which is both listening to music and also playing and creating music of my own. Music is actually one of the subjects I could talk about non stop for really long periods of time lol, I really love introducing people to new band and also learning of new music from other people. I love all types of music no matter the genre as long as it is good music though my favorite type of music is the kind you can dance to and absolutely love dancing. (Free advice to guys everywhere, a girl loves a guy who will dance and you do not have to even be a good dancer you just have to have the confidence to dance even if you are not that good at it. I guarantee if you are say at the bar and a band is playing and no one is dancing if you walk out on the dance floor and start dancing you will catch the eye of several girls even if you are dancing horribly simply because we girls loooove a guy who will dance with them and you have the confidence to do so which is a HUGE thing for girls.) If you are also an avid music fan I would love to chat about it and share songs back and forth from mine and your favorite artists. I wish I could say I was currently in a band but sadly none of my current friends play any instruments and the ones who do are already in bands. *pouts* I have been in a whole bunch of bands over the years though and am currently doing solo projects in music and even do some DJing from time to time in Chicago but I have two jobs now that take up so much of my time I don't really get to go out to Chicago and do any DJing much anymore. I am really good at writing music and by writing music I don't mean writing lyrics though I defiantly can and have and will do so again in the future but what I really meant is composing music and songs. I can play and enjoy playing the piano, the bass guitar, synth machines, drum machines, digital turn tables and a few others as well those are just the ones I am really good at and I actually play really well. I even have built a full recording studio in my room with three synth/piano's, two drum machines, an organ two regular electric piano's, a bass guitar, a digital turn table, two wireless microphones, a classic retro Casio DG-10 digital guitar (which is this really awesome guitar that you can make sound like any instrument and has a built in drum machine ROFL you can also put batteries in it so you can play it without having to plug it in which by the way you have to do if you don't have the batteries which are those really large ones and it takes sooo many the thing weighs a TON when you have them in XD) and of course speakers which includes a huge sub woofer for loud fun and a large switch board as well as a small one and since my specialty mac book pro which I had hooked up with all sorts of music software broke of course causing me to lose a whole lot of music that I had made but not backed up like any smart person on an external hard drive (wont be making that mistake again) I now have a specialty tablet with the software that I need but I also have everything connected to my PC computer as well which gives me additional software and storage space since I use the tablet for easy access and for when I go DJing since it is better for travel.
Anyways enough about music, as I stated before I work a lot and actually have several jobs one is a standard paycheck job but nothing special but I kinda enjoy and really enjoy having the steady paycheck it gives me is working as the night crew assistant manager at the Strack's and Van Till store in the next town over. The more professional job and more of my career job is working as a free lance graphic designer which can pay pretty well from time to time but doesn't offer a steady paycheck since I get paid contract to contract which is why I like having the steady paycheck from Stracks so that even if I have a contract that takes a long time I am still getting paid every other week from that. I also like to help out my community and try to do at least six hours of volunteer work around town each week :3
My Rambling's About Gaia:
I actually like Gaia more so then I thought it would... I guess it helps that several of my friends have accounts here lol. I made an account years ago... and I really mean years upon years ago but I never liked the avatars here and at the time there were better options like Tinier Me with it's more adorable and better looking avatars, and several other sites before that including the earliest site I used when I was really little which was Cybertown which was the most comprehensive and well built chat communities that really was one of the first and best of it's kind. Anyways there are many neat things about this site and the only two small problems I seem to have with this site is how laggy the chat town is which I know can in part be attributed to my computer but at the same time my computer isn't bad it runs quickly for most things. The other thing and I admit the main reason I had a problem in the past was because I never really liked that pix-elated avatars I just think that for such a popular and well made site they could have done a better job... well at least I think since then they have at least updated the avatars so they are better then they were in the past so that is good.
