I don't really use any tools but the paintbrush tool and some of the color/adjustment things. What I do, is I draw my lineart, then I lay down the flat colors on a layer below the lineart. Then, on another layer, I just draw in my shadows. Then I select that layer (click on the layer pallete) then go to the color layer and hit ctrl+J, and that makes a new layer out of the selection using the colors in the color layer. Then I set it to multiply. :3 That's pretty much how I do it.

Yep. I use Photoshop for most everything.



For shading, it requres a lot of practice, and learning where to place shadows depending on the light source. It's something I've been practicing since at least 2001 when I started drawing with Photoshop. I mostly just use the paintbrush tool for everything.

Yeah, it is. But it's VERY easy to get greedy and take on more than you can handle. That's what I've done, and now I've got a bagillion people knocking on my door for art, and then new people asking for commissions. XD;;

It's okay. Sometimes it's not always the best thing. For example, staying up all night to draw instead of sleep when you have work the next day. o_O;

unfortunately, I'm up to my neck in commissions and other projects. So I'm not taking anymore until I finish them.
