Running through the forest,
Finding food for its family and friends.
In it’s majestic, silent, and endless run as it soars after prey.
Faster, Faster it goes,
Smiling as much as one can. Yipping in excitement.
Hoping to get the kill.
After the kill it smiles as it’s pack eats.
Patiently, awaiting its turn.
Still smiling in it’s wolfish grin.
Yet tense but never showing.
But as the day draws to a close,
It can’t help but loosen up,
For the full moon is high in the sky that night.
It raises its head and howls,
Its heart-wrenching song flows through the night sky
It’s pack joining in to make a chorus.
The entire forest stirs as the howl is finished,
Only to start again, but with some pups too.
Their fur glistening in the moonlight.
As it drifts to sleep, awaiting for the next morning…
