My real name is Josh, but you can call me all sorts of names as long as I realize you are addressing me. I am a amateur writer, role-player, and nerd. If you come to my profile asking about anime, the fact is I don’t watch too much anime. I enjoy Gaia and the graphics they present, but understand I have no care on most of the fads that Gaia parades around. I like what I like and I know exactly what I like. If I see something I enjoy, I will say it forthright. I have an open mind, but not a tolerance for those trying to defend their beloved treasure from my dislike. If I am disinterested in something, that doesn’t make it lesser, only out of my perimeters of interest, that is all. If it is awful, then it is not for me to say and I try my best to restrain myself from nay-saying another’s enjoyment, but know that I will not tolerate blind appreciation for things, especially if that interest is based in some sort of sexual hang-up or fetish.
That is my biggest pet peeve. Now, to speak about me: I try my best not to be a confrontational person. I came to Gaia for the express purpose of writing and role-playing. I love play-by-post forums, be they Advanced Literate, Semi-Literate, or even if they are played using Table Top Rules. I am a lover of Fantasy and Science Fiction. My favorite books being the Averoigne series by Clark Ashton Smith, I,Robot by Isaac Asimov, and Jack Vance’s Dying Earth series. I have a firm appreciation for boxing and professional wrestling, leftovers from growing up. My favorite anime is Hajime no Ippo, a boxing anime. I still enjoy video games and I doubt I’ll ever dislike them. I am currently playing Space Sims (Wing Commander Series and Freespace), but I also enjoyed nearly all the games done for the Infinity Engine. My favorite television show that I can watch at anytime is Millennium with Lance Henriksen as Frank Black. I adore Dungeons and Dragons, not just as a game, but as an industry, less so now. I collect First Edition Modules, as it were. If you have not seen Goblinoid Games’ version of Original D&D, Labyrinth Lord, I advocate it strongly as it is free for the PDF. I paint miniatures, though I am terribly colorblind and merely do my best. I do by Warhammer and Warhammer 40k miniatures, but I do not play, though I’d love to learn. My favorite movie of all time is Rocky.
I write as a release and as recreation. I have no fictional aspirations in becoming a professional writer. If ever I were to be published, it would be rarely and only for my own accomplishment, not for support. I am studying Psychology and I am in college. I was in the military as a combat medic, but was given the boot due to a surgery I had to have. I am a very opened role-player with plenty of free time. I try my best to role-play with anyone I can meet as I feel that you can learn something for everyone, though I am in agreement on certain literary minimums merely or quality of the thread, though I am sure there are people out there who would make a fuss at being denied, I feel that any denial is not just for the role-play or the established role-players, but done for you as well. Writing in any form is a evolutionary process and it takes time, effort, and practice to become better and that is what it is all about: improvement… well, other than fun.
