Alexia Ashford is the chief antagonist of Resident Evil Code: Veronica. She is the twin sister of Alfred and the creator of the T-Veronica virus. Alexia was created by her father from Veronica Ashford's DNA and inherited her ancestor's superb intellect. By the time she was ten years old, she graduated valedictorian at her university and became a researcher for the Umbrella Corporation. Claire and Steve encounter what appears to be Alexia in Rockfort Island, but is actually her brother Alfred in drag.
The real Alexia experimented with the T-Veronica virus 15 years earlier and implanted her father with the virus as a test subject. This led to the creation of the Nosferatu. Alexia further experimented with the virus and believed she had found a way to implant someone with the virus so that they retained their consciousness and control of their actions. She then implanted herself with the T-Veronica virus and entered a self-induced cryogenic sleep in the Antarctic Facility that lasted 15 years. She awakens after Alfred's death and takes Claire and Steve captive. Chris frees Claire and later battles Alexia in her first mutated form. He later wounds Alexia, who mutates from a humanoid form into a giant dragonfly-like creature, all while still retaining her intelligence. Chris manages to kill her.
Even in the early stages, Alfred and Alexia always shared similar sounding names. The Wesker's Report II documentary depicts a rivalry between her and William Birkin.
