Oh, no. I think you miss interpreted my comment there. I wasn't saying that you weren't Indian, but that isn't the only meaning for the word. In sentences, yes, it means 'Hello' but in the actual paragraph or stanza behind the word, it means more.
Although it may only mean "Hello" when said as a greeting, it actually means a lot more. I would know this because my mom and dad made me look it up about a hundred times when I asked what it meant. Most people think it only means hello, but I've learned better. Lucky me, so now when everybody asks what namaste means, I always say "More than just hello" and it goes on like that for a while. O.O
I'm not exactly sure if I have, in fact, a nationality from India. I do know that it is my middle name, and means a lot more than what some people think is "Hello".
