Nayru (ネール, Neeru) is the Goddess of Wisdom, one of the three Golden Goddesses who created the realm of Hyrule (along with parallel realms, such as the Sacred Realm). Naryu is the source of the fundamental laws that govern the realm of Hyrule. Nayru's essence, as well as the essence of her two sisters Farore, and Din, is the source of the Golden Power within the omnipotent sacred relic, the Triforce.
At the dawn of existence, Nayru, along with her sisters, Din and Farore, descended upon the void that was to become the land of Hyrule, each of them creating a different facet of the realm. According to Ocarina of Time, Nayru "poured her wisdom onto the earth and gave the spirit of law to the world." Upon departure, they created the Triforce, the embodiment of their divine essence, and left it within the Sacred Realm.
Nayru's divine essence is what constitutes the Triforce of Wisdom, which affords Princess Zelda her great wisdom and mystical abilities. Though at a much smaller extent, Nayru's essence can also be invoked by a powerful sorcerer. Her essence provides a protective shield of light when the spell Nayru's Love is cast.

She tilted her head inquisitively, and then made the mistake of looking full on at the Goddess. Muffling a squeak of pain, the Hero spun around, blue orbs shut tight. Yuudai drew her light green veil that had covered her golden locks over her face and turned again to Nayru, now the bright aura that surrounded the blue-haired woman had dimmed so the young woman could look at Nayru
"My Goddess..." she said in an almost desperate way - What was wrong with the Goddess of Wisdom? "Are you feeling okay?"

Yuudai's head twisted around, angry that her prayer to Din had been interrupted. Her face twisted to one of awe and reverence when she was able to see who it was. The symbol on her right hand resonated, the left triangle shimmering an icy blue.
"My Goddess?" she started tentatively, averting her ocean blue eyes from the glory of the Goddess in front of her "Why do you confuse me with the Hero of old?" The hero of twilight fumbled around with her words for a few moments before continuing "I know many say that I resemble the Hero of Time, Wind, Seasons, and Four Sword... but I am female" The young woman's face tinted with a light shade of cherry pink "Link has been dead many a year My Goddess, and for the first time, a Female Hero has risen from his descendants" The Hero felt very embarrassed, almost as if she were trying to give the Goddess a history lesson "Forgive my impertinence My Goddess, for you are all-knowing. The Goddess of Wisdom who looks over Princess Zelda as well as all of Hyrule and keeps order along with Goddesses Din and Farore. With much more significance than I, your lowly servant"
