Profile: Edzard was born to his father Emmerich and his mother Amalia, both hard working citizens living within Wall Maria. Edzard was actually the youngest son of two, having an older brother named Leon. Edzard grew up admiring his older brother's strength, courage and wisdom. However Leon joined with the military's Scouting Legion, always talking to Edzard about what life would be like outside the walls. It was always Leon's dream to explore the world outside the walls and Edzard did not understand why. Nevertheless, Leon joined the Scouting Legion at the age of 16. Edzard was only 10 years old at the time. During the very first expedition his older brother set out on with the Scouting Legion, he was killed by a group of Titans outside the walls. Fortunately the soldiers with Leon's group at the time were able to recover most of his body. Edzard was horrified and traumatized with the death of his older brother. Originally a shy and timid child, Edzard would grow up to become more like his older brother, bold, outspoken and courageous. More than anything, he despied the miltary who really had no real strength. Everyday Edzard walked the streets of his hometown, he would see them standing around, lounging about and joking. Edzard would never be able to forgive the Military for their inability to keep his older brother alive. He wanted to find his own way at getting revenge back at the Military and the Titans who took his brother's life, despite the opposition from both his parents. Edzard in fact one day stole the 3D Movement Gear off of a Stationary Guard member and to the soldiers' surprise, Edzard was able to use the gear without proper training. Of course he was quickly apprehended and punished but his spirit and desire to do something is still strong...
