One of the first Exo-byte experiments Lex tried was on an orphaned newborn that was basically just born, the experiment was a success yet a failure at the same time, the infant entered a hibernation sleep where his body grew as a sort of self defense mechanism, his body stopped somewhere in the late teens to early twenties (not set in stone), even though he stopped growing his body remained dormant. Lex kept him for observation, but eventually he gave up and declared the boy brain dead and shipped him off to a separate research facility to be observed indefinitely in case there was ever any change, on the way there the the transport was attacked by Braniac's bots due to the Exo-byte energy signature, the plane crashed and the boy's pod got lost, Braniac's bots got wrecked in the crash. The league naturally sends some heroes to investigate the accident and the female hero finds me there, my body reacts to her warm presence and that's how I'm formed
