Gaia's Terms of Service state that only people aged 13 or older are eligible to be members of Gaia Online. In order to comply with COPPA (Children's On-line Privacy Protection Act) law, we must uphold strict standards regarding age verification. Your account will be reinstated on your 13th birthday.
Why has my account been disabled?
To comply with our own terms and services and with the COPPA (Children's On-line Privacy Protection Act) ruling, we are unable to allow anyone under 13 years of age to enter any personal information on our site. Unfortunately, this means that we are required by law to clear your account information and your profile. We will maintain your inventory of virtual items and gold, so that you can reclaim them once you reach 13 years of age.
Why was I asked to verify my age?
We discovered a number of accounts for which no date of birth was on record. The owners of these accounts were asked to verify their age so that we can uphold our Terms of Service and comply with COPPA law.
How do I reactivate my account?
You can use your username and password to log in to Gaia and reactivate your account once you have reached 13 years of age. At that time, we will let you re-register with our service and reclaim your inventory items. After you're 13 years of age, there will be no time limit to reclaim your account; we will keep your virtual items and Gaia Gold stored safely until you choose to re-register.
Will I lose my gold and items?
You will not lose your item inventory or your Gaia Gold. Your entire inventory will be saved, and you can reactivate your account on your 13th birthday. Keep a copy of your username and NEW password (written in red above), because we will use that information to help you re-register once you reach your 13th birthday.
Can I activate my account before my 13th birthday?
Unfortunately, Gaia is only open to members who are at least 13 years of age.
