okay, so here's the huge comment:



i was in israel for 10 days. my favorite part was day 6 : Masada and the Dead sea.



it was deathly hot that day, like 110 degrees. On top of Masada it was like 112. I couldnt concentrate on the tour because all i was focusing on was the heat!!



Masada is an old fortress of King Herod (before Christ) in which 800 + Jews fled to for protection against the Romans. They were surrounded on 8 sides, and stayed there for 3 years until the Romans build a ramp to the top and bashed their way in with a battering ram. Surprisingly, they were met by silence instead of battle because the Jews had all committed suicide. That is why we remember them to this day.



Anywho, after Masada we went down to the Dead Sea, the lowest point in Israel. like 1400 ft below sea level i think. The Dead Sea is called so because nothing can survive in its waters; it is 36% salt. So, (even thought the water was sickly hot and salty and slimey) we made our way in. OMG we FLOATED in a literal sense. Basically, because of its high salinity, everything it the DS floated! Then we put the famous DS mud all over ourselves. (delightful)



Israel was great, you and your family should travel there someday!!
