Konoha no Kiiroi Senko, Namikaze Minato, was the fourth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village. He and his wife, Uzumaki Kushina, both died to protect their son and the village. Minato is known as the Yellow Flash of Konoha because of his immense speed and skill. In the academy, Minato was very quiet, shy, and not very confident. Kushina always told him he was a useless crybaby, but when he was the only ninja who noticed she was leaving bits of hair when she was captured, Kushina fell in love. "I'd know that beautiful red hair anywhere" he said. Minato and Kushina's son, Naruto, was named after the hero of Minato's teacher, Jiraiya's novel 'Make Out Paradise." Minato said he admired the character's "never give up" spirit, thus making Jiraiya Naruto's Godfather. Just before Minato and Kushina perished, they imbedded some of their chakra into the Kyuubi's seal so that one day they could see their son again.
