Poi can be easy, but you have to have something natural born for it to get it further than the easiest bits. I'm bad at poi, staff is more my thing. There is people in sweden who does the simple poi tricks and think they now the art of it. Martin however is one of the best in Sweden, as far as I now and he is inventing new tricks all the time.
It lies in the attitude. If you like doing poi, but not think you are the best (when you're not) then go for it. It just disturbs me when people seems to think that they now an exclusive skill in poi when they only now the basics... sorry.. now you got a lecture. It's just that I have met a few bad attitude poiers. It's fun to do though. I can imagine you looking great with poi in your hands.
Now it's food time for me, then I will either try getting some studying done or go out for a walk. Talk to you later darling!
