Yep, yep. I remember I just went into towns and begged. I guess most people have been there. Then I discovered the market and found a much better way of making gold. Also, I quit for like... 2 or 3 years and then came back here and noticed that everyone was rich and I was dumbfounded. Pretty much everyone had tons of gold except for people who just joined. And at one point I was one of the richer people on Gaia around the time that I quit. And then I came back and everyone was loaded. Needless to say, I had a lot of work to do to get where I am today. And yet I'm still not rich. lol
It's more or less about making our avatars unique rather than making gold I guess, because, like you said, gold is so accessible to everyone now.

Indeed, indeed. I know what you're saying. Honestly the most expensive items that I know of that aren't premium are 30k. Aside from the Dernier items or whatever. You're basically forced into paying money unless:
1. You want to remain a noob forever
2. You want to stay up 24/7 working the market place
Back when I first joined, most people didn't own premium items. In fact, it seems only recently that almost everyone got their hands on them.
I hope this makes sense. lol

Depending on the item, yes, 150k is pretty outrageous. What annoys me is that since 05 no MC prices have really risen and so the prices on newer more modern MCs will definitely take even longer to make expensive. Like maybe 10 years from now today's monthly collectible will be worth 1mil. If we're lucky. The best we can do to make gold(without spending real money, that is) for now is buy the entire market of a single item and then sell it for 5x what it's worth. A lot of times this, too, is not very smart. Words cannot describe how many times I've planned on purchasing an entire market and right when I think they're all mine- BAM! Some 30 more listings appear and instead of making a profit you actually lose money because everybody usually wants to sell the fastest so one after another they price their items lower and lower! gonk Soooooo annoying!

You've been playing for quite sometime! =-o I've been playing since around 2004 or 2005. (This isn't my first account) Yeah, that'd've probably been a nice idea. But, I mean, it would've taken years to make it what it's worth now. I doubt anybody really cared or thought about it. They only cared about getting one copy of the item, I suppose. And after those items I think the rest since 2005 are priced for around 150,000 ALL OF THE TIME! lol
They never increase in value!

Me two. In fact, you'd be surprised by the dramatic changes that my avatar goes through. It's not as frequent as it used to be. I used the change my username every week and my gender and also sell and buy new clothes. Needless to say I lost big money and ended up having to come to a grinding halt with all of the changes. I got two Psychedelic Submersible's in my inventory. That should tell you dramatic the results of me changing are.
