Bigger ones are generally more stable and if you made it a proper ecosystem with live plants and beneficial microorganisms like I had kinda reduces a lot of the work.

Sorry for late reply.

I did decide to keep some of my fish, just the shrimp and kuhli loaches like my og crew was. The Soba Squad (loaches) and the Kobolds (shrimp). I think I can handle it better but I will miss the puppylike gourami Polaris. She always swims out to the front whenever I’d walk in the room and watch me, she has a curious nature to her and if I wanted to I probably could’ve trained her to do tricks.

Yeah I’m still young and healthy. I just mean because some of my fish live long, 20 years it’s good to have a plan where they go if an accident occurs to me and I can’t. A common practice for parrot owners or other long lived pets.

I’ve always had issues with phone calls even for ordering pizza but also calling the dr or other important meetings. I get so stressed I often need a nap after. I used to struggle even more and need to hang up n call back because I’d lose the ability to speak from anxiety.

As for my fish I’m only going to let them go if I find someone I know have the same level of experience I have or higher. Some of my fish can live 20 years and I previously made arrangements that if I passed away they would go to my brother like one should for a parrot due to their long lifespan. If that makes sense. Polaris and the rest are more than “just fish” and I want them to live full lives.
I’m not going to give them to just anyone. In the meantime I’ll try harder to maintain things as they were but I’ve recognized I struggle with day to day basic things too much and semi-often. I guess best case scenario is it would become a habit to keep my higher fish keeping standards again but idk how long I’ll last.

I’d be jealous if there were tiny hoomans riding on bugs! I’ve written a few poems about envying bugs but I won’t bore you with them.

Lately I’ve been feeling like I failed my fish and what once was a slice of a verdant aquatic jungle is still good n green but my depression has gotten so bad it’s hard to maintain the water levels and that’s above myself in priority. No matter what my dog n fish get fed even if I can’t bother to maintain myself. I just realized it tonight that perhaps I should look for a suitable new owner who can treasure Polaris and the other fish.

I guess the reason I got the microscope is because I made a post on my socials about wanting to see the microscopic world such as what’s going on in my fish tank water. I already had a thing for bugs eye view when taking pics I guess. And love bugs so going smaller is the next step I guess. I always like learning and I been more curious of the world around me in the science n nature sense.

I forgot what else I just read like the plebeian I am but I got a microscope as an anonymous gift from a (probably) coworker! Once I figure it out and get it goin what things should I look at? I’m open to suggestions!

I’m not even 30 yetttt, don’t say old! Jk I often liken my self to some ancient eldritch creature like whenever you here the sound of wood creaking it’s actually my bones n stuff like that.
