ثم رأيت وحشا بعشرة قرون وسبعة رؤوس يخرج من البحر. كان له تاج على كل قرن ، وعلى كل رأس كتب أسماء تسيء إلى الله. بدا هذا الوحش مثل النمر ، لكن لديه أقدام دب وخطم أسد. أعطى التنين لهذا الوحش قوته ومملكته. بدا أن أحد رؤوس الوحش مصاب بجرح مميت. لكن التئام الجرح ، مما جعل الجميع يتعجبون ويؤمنون بالوحش. كانوا جميعًا يعبدون التنين ، لأنه أعطى سلطته للوحش ، كما عبدوا الوحش. قالوا: لا يوجد أحد في قوة هذا الوحش. لا أحد يستطيع محاربته. »
