"First the Lucians took my mother... and now they make a sacrifice of my sister!!!"
๐ฑrom the dawn of my first breath, I have been overlooked by the astrals above. No god of war, no goddess of sea's wrath, and no titan of the earth smiled upon me. Prince of Tenebrae, I stood to inherit my motherโs kingdom with a proper marriage. At that time, I cared not for any of those things. I had everything I wanted. I had a beautiful mother, Sylva, who loved me with her all. Not long after, I was given a beautiful sister, Lunafreya. Oh, she so looked like my mother. How could I not instantly love her? Real beauty is rare, they sayโฆ rare as the desert rose. It covers my sister from the top of her head to the very end of her toes. I asked nothing of the gods until that day; I petitioned the astrals for nothing until I saw that nameless grace nesting like a sacred light in human countenance. I pray you, with my very soul and humanityโkeep my sister โtil the end of time.
๐พafe is what I meant, but those gaudy, jealous beings heard me from the jagged edges of the hollows they call hearts. From the heavens Shiva descended, sending her messenger; she made for herself an oracle. The gods let down their favor for my sister; lifeblood of my vitals, For what? I did not yet know. What a foolโs heart had I! I was still gentle; I was still unlearned. My soul sang; my quarters were immediately transfigured to a shrine to the most divine goddess. Gentiana, as I was told, was her messenger and this astral loved my sister every bit as much as I. I wept for joy. I cried precious tears of relief for I knew when I saw my lady Lunafreya the very light that softened her face would make the heavens jealous. Astrals are terrible creatures. I know this now.
๐ธy life was bliss though. My sister grew beautifully into a young child and into our courts came a stately prince who too had stood tall against the Niffelheim empire. King Regis, a man of supposed brave and noble blood petitioned us that his son, who had been injured by a Daemon, might come to be healed. My sister, as it turns out, has a very fine gift. From the flesh of men she could drive the Starscorge. Her loveliness only increased as she grew. But she knew from the beginning of meeting Prince Noct that she was destined to be with him. Even this I did not question. I embraced that small, feeble child as a brother knowing not what an unworthy coward he was. She sat with him many a day while he lay sick in his bed nursing the wounds baptized in the blood of servants. She loved him. And that messenger witch, the incubator of my despair, led my sister hand-in-hand to her demise. She, as the fates told, was to be the one to manifest Prince Noctisโ destiny as the King of Kings.
๐t was that day Niffelheim came. My mother who had given me such a beautiful sister was cut down that day. A sword, thrust through her, spilled her red-hot love upon me that day. The pain of being shot troubled me not. As I bled, the only thing that terrified me was the fact that as my motherโs life and innards spilled out over my helpless, young frameโฆ the King I cried out to abandoned me. He left my mother like a corpse as she gasped her last breathsโฆ he took up my sisterโs small, white handโฆ and he ran with her into the night. He stole my light. He stole my sunโmust he now take my moon? I learned that my sister was to become a sacrifice to baptize the throne of the Lucian King. I learned that it was the will of the coward Regis who would slaughter his kingdom and mine to save but one boy. I learned it was the will of the astrals. I tore down my altars. I burned my books of cosmology. I scattered the filthy ashes across the lowest fields of sewage and belted curses to the gods. Who were they that I should shed a single tear for their will? The gods would not have my sister, my moon. The King of Cowards would not have my sister's lifeblood for their sacred rite. When the moon falls from the sky, the world will end. Night is only darkness without the light of the sun and moon. How fitting I should take up the devil's arm and march beneath his flag.
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
